Maybe so. I have no idea. But again... Do you think that Cooper was the only guy on the team to not get the shot? And if not, why was he the only one they got rid of? It's not like he was a John Roper type cut. He was one of the better players on the team.
It's not like he made a personal choice to miss the game. He was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and was forced to miss the game. It's not like taking the shot would have prevented catching it. That's already been proven. He was not a "no show".
Jerry held a grudge with Jimmy for 3 decades over nothing. I have nondoubt Jerry can be very petty.
Something about taking the shot allowed a player to come back quicker if I remember correctly. And for the idiot's who believed the shot prevented the spread of covid or from getting covid, I'm sure a person who believed in the vaccine would think choosing to not get the shot and missing a game is a selfish move. But Cooper is no dummy. Jerry on the other hand...
I think a combination of the two things. They were pissed at him for a course of action that caused him to miss a game, and then were like “well why should we pay a guy this much when we can’t count on him?”
Right, if you'd taken the shot you got to return faster than if you hadn't.

Just looked it up. Cooper tested positive on 19 NOV 21. The Chiefs game was 21 Nov 21, and the Raiders game was the next Thursday, 25 Nov 21. So he would have missed both of those games for testing positive, shot or no shot.
I think they were pretty pissed off that Cooper followed that up by going to a Mavs game either right before the wild card game or the last game of the year at Philly.
He isn't a rah rah "leader type"
If they would've at least gotten fair value (a 2, maybe a 3) it might've made some sense, but sending him off for nothing made the decision even more ridiculous.
You could have perhaps drafted a replacement #2 WR if you got a second or third. Probably not an equal caliber player to Cooper but you could have found maybe a Michael Gallup, who, for a brief time there, was certainly better than the Jalen Tolberts and Jalen Cooks and the version of Brandin Cooks that we got.
I watched Amari a few times last season, and he didn’t look quite as quick as he did in Dallas. Could have simply been the playing surface or the lack of work between the QB and himself as you pointed out.
His second stint will be as successful as Zeke's.
It's so hard to trade back into the fourth round. Seems like that round kind of gets a premium most years. And for good reason, like I have mentioned before it seems like the fourth round has a lot of talent left that teams just overlooked on Day 2. Boards kind of get restacked and a lot of that talent suddenly goes in the fourth on Day 3.
