I wish the kid luck. I don't hate him as much as say Booth who I thought was total trash from the very begining.

This guy might at least be survivable if he is on the field. But then again Oruwariye was survivable on the field last year. So it shouldn't be that tough to be. Booth is just straight up trash, doesn't belong on an NFL roster total liability.

He played nearly the entire AFCC against KC, I watched the all-22 and he wasn't that bad. I think he gave up 3 catches for about 30-35 yards, wasn't amazing by any means and he definitely is prone to getting beat on comebacks, but he wasn't just getting abused up and down the field like Booth was in that second Eagles game.

I'd still feel much better about him as our CB4, but I think he can start here and there and not totally kill you.

I mean we still have to add a corner. Again the problem is what kind of corner do you add. If the thought is that Diggs is done after this year, then it needs to be someone high end and on a long term deal. Of course a draft pick you get for 4 or 5 years so that could be the thought process. My preference would be to actually sign Asante Samuel Jr. to like a 3 year deal and then worry about Bland. But free agents are lucky to get a 2 year deal out of us.

On the other hand if Diggs is in the long term plans still and you're just looking to survive until he comes back, you really just need a reliable starter on a one year deal. No reason to burn a high draft pick on a corner if Diggs is in your long term plans.

Also height/speed combos can be deceiving. The Tenn kid is like 6'5" and ran a 4.3 forty. Thornton I think is his name. We will see if he ever does jack shit.

1 year for 7 million though? Worth it even if he turns out to be washed.
How do you figure that? If he's washed, we'd be out cap space and a roster spot. I'd hardly say that would be 'worth it.'

Don't we have like 30 million worth of cap space?

What the fuck else are we gonna spend it on? More 3rd stringers?

Was thinking more along the lines of how in the hell you came up with the idea that the wasted roster spot would be worth it for a washed player.

Yeah, I think a 6-3, 240+ lb body that can run a 4.5 is the biggest thing he got from his parents.

Who says he's washed?

An anonymous source?

I'm not necessarily buying it. I'd be happy with a 1 year/7 million deal on Cooper or Lockett as both vets being worth the potential risk.

2 yr/$25 million for Diggs considering the upside potential even after the injury would be worth it too IMO but would probably be far too much for the cheap ass Joneses.

Uhh, that was YOUR hypothetical.

And that was what I was replying to. So, I'll say again... How in the hell would it be worth it, even if he's washed?

Yeah if he is washed, it's not worth it. Unless none is guaranteed in which case you could cut him with no real loss. Just one less camp body.

But put me in the camp that doesn't believe he became washed that quickly. Maybe he isn't a #1 WR but I think he is still better than anyone not named Lamb on the roster.

The tweet I responded to said he was washed. There is always a risk of falling off when signing an older vet though.
