This is true, do two or three dogshit players equal one good player?
That is moneyball in a nutshell.

Replacing one player’s output with 2 or 3 players who can collectively give you that same output.

Or like wearing two coats and covering up with multiple blankets in the winter instead of getting your furnace fixed.

And by the way, I have no problem with this move. I know nothing about the guy with the Bills. I know him really only as the draft prospect. I do know that with corners scheme can make a huge difference. I hope the guy does well and there is basically no risk involved.

But we still need to add a corner that we can count on.

This ain't baseball!!!!

And that concept works to some extent if you're getting starting caliber players. It doesn't work with guys who aren't at least starting level.

The fact that the Bills are willing to part with a former first rounder that they traded up for, for basically nothing, tells you all you need to know.

He's dogshit.

If we actually signed a starter or two elsewhere I'd be fine with the move, and all the others, you just can't go into the draft needing 4ish starters.

Quality is leaving a lot to be desired, but shocked at the quantity.
Selectively aggressive.

If they'd just sign like Dalvin Tomlinson or something I'd say this has been a very successful FA class, but of course they'll never sign an external FA for more than like 5/year.

Yea, he's not bad, probably the 2nd best player they've signed so far after Solomon Thomas. He still has room for improvement though while Thomas is what he is at 30, so he could end up being the best player out of this class (so far).

Overall, they are fleshing out the roster with players at the right places to recoup loss.

Thing is most of them are dice rolls. Williams, Sanborn and Thomas are probably the three you can say will definitely stick at least in a back up capacity.

Things are looking up, fellas. We hadn't done jack and shit by this time last year.

Well if trading value meant anything it would mean Mingo is a good young player. But he is dogshit. At least we didn't give up a fourth round pick this time.

But yeah odds are Elam will be dogshit here. I'm not denying that. He has only started 12 games in 3 seasons. Started only 4 games last year despite playing in 12. If the Bills liked what they saw he would have started all season long. They certainly didn't want their first round pick sitting on the bench.

Now to give others a glimmer of hope PFF kind of liked him. His overall grade was 47th out of 223 corners last year. If that were actually accurate that would make him a good second corner and a great third corner. That's much higher than Ward last season for example. Basically on par with DJ Reed.

But after saying all that, I think PFF is trash for the most part. But I hope the blind squirrel found a nut on this one.
