Agreed. When has Jerry EVER traded an elite player instead of giving them a second contract? They LOVE the players they draft. Too much at times.

I don't think that's the issue. We should be keeping our elite players and paying them.

The issue is our refusal to spend around those elite players to build a championship team.

(Giving second contracts to our own players has only been an issue with regards to players that are clearly not elite (and in some cases suck) but we inexplicably love anyway like Terrance Steele, Jaylon Smith and Tyrone Crawford. And that's only an issue insomuch as we use overpaying players like that as an excuse to play the player and not spend elsewhere to improve the team.)

Sadly I don't even think it would be that hard to get a contract done with Parsons. But we aren't trading him. And we aren't letting him leave.

If we aren't going to do shit again all offseason I'd explore trading Parsons but we won't. Only because trading Parsons for a couple of firsts and more would feel better than continuing to waste Parson's career.

It feels like the Cowboys are the only holdup with Parsons. Wouldn't have even been shocked if he would have taken 36 a year not long ago. But now we almost have to go to 40 unless he wants to be nice.
