I welcome the investigation, I just can't stand when they falsify the numbers.
So you like what he's doing then.

Maybe lead with that instead of the part where you go off the rails over something that doesn't matter.

Sort of like the "We gave $350B to Ukraine" when it is actually less than half that, which is still a lot, but he can't help himself from exaggerating.
Well one of the problems is that we don't rightly know how much has been given and it is probably way more than the "official," tabulations.

Because if you haven't figured out that the Biden administration and it's allies in the media were lying to you way worse, you're off your rocker.

Trump saying "We gave $350 bn to Ukraine," when the real numbers are at least $150 bn and probably more but uncertain, that's hyperbole of a completely different sort that the Biden administration's attempts to cover up the entire truth.

The thing is, Irv, NONE of them tell the truth. We are all well aware of that. The reason we are happy is that we are finally seeing something get done about what we all knew was going to be the end of our country if it kept being ignored. All of the presidential candidates always SAY they are going to do something about all the wasteful spending, then they get in office and do fuckall about it. I know you can't give any credit to Trump, I get it, but at least acknowledge they are bring a light to some of the problems.
"We gave $300bn to Ukraine and the Ukranian government stole half of it," is way more truth than "We gave $200bn to Ukraine and everything is on the up and up."

One of them is a number error. One of them is an attempt to delude the American people that their money wasn't stolen.

I wish Trump wouldn't exaggerate but he's WAY MORE RIGHT than anyone else purporting to tell the truth.

The sad part is our government is so shady about the accounting that no one can actually just pull up a spreadsheet and give a definitive number. Like how is it that the numbers always feel like estimates.

The Musk hate is so insane to me. I've listened to the guy a lot, he is smart, he is right and he is doing it from a good place. Yes he is a weird dude but who cares. Lots of really smart people are socially awkward.

Check out his recent interview on Rogan where he talks about Social Security. He hasn't done his homework.

I actually did already listen to it. And I think his entire point is very accurate. That our government is so disorganized and so compartmentalized that it opens itself up for abuse. They don't track stuff properly and basically the whole thing is a giant mess. Trying to basically track and trace stuff that has no information to allow it to be tracked or traced. If a private company was ran like this it would never come close to surviving.

I also agree with him that it's so inefficient that it's easy to improve the efficiency. Much harder to do with something that is being run well. But when you have something run this poorly, it's easy to improve.

I was talking about his views on Social Security, because that was the only part I caught.
Yeah its a 3 hour long interview I believe.

As far as Social Security is concerned I know he talked about the names listed as alive and the concerns that benefits may be being received through other areas because of this but not Social Security payments. Basically other benefit programs don't communicate so if these people exist on the Social Security list then other departments could be treating them as alive.

But I'd have to go back and listen to that specific 5 minutes to remember exactly what he said. Like I said, big interview compared to the part you're referring.

Yeah he said that SS is a big Ponzi scheme because the what we are collecting now won't pay out the future obligations. Of course not, genius. But what they collect in the future should be close to that.

I read somewhere that anything earned above $175k is exempt from being collected for SS, but if they raised that to perhaps the first $1M, SS would be solvent.

Yeah, I wish Mitt Romney were president. I bet he's never told a lie. Actually he reminds me a lot of George Washington.
Hey, you listen here, motherfucker, Washington was a liar, too! You have no evidence that he actually chopped down that cherry tree, nor can you prove that he had wooden teeth.

Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. If any if us created an account which functions the way that Social Security is administered, we’d all be in prison on multiple fraud convictions.

Sounds like an honest and truthful take. Social Security is just a giant income tax that we call something else. People see the 6.2% come out of their check. Which is a joke because the employer is paying 12.4%. And the employer is going to adjust for the total amount. That's a lot of money. That's not even talking about the income tax. Or the 2.9% Medicare tax. So even without talking income taxes, your check is really being dinged 15.3% for the average worker. They only see half that on their paycheck but the employer is paying in that percent.

CNN reports it was more like a cherry shrub, possibly a bush. He exaggerated that it was a tree. LIAR!!!

Insurance is closer to extortion, but close enough. It wasn't before we were forced to buy it, but it is now.
Yeah I hate insurance as well. The whole concept of it is going to make most hate it. The vast majority have to pay way more in than they get out so that a few can actually benefit. If most actually benefited from insurance the companies would go belly up.
