Can you imagine if the goof Schottenheimer is the new HC? :lol

I think these wild fluctuations are just the betting sites taking advantage of a large, gullible, anxious fan base the literal definition of a "public team".

They don't have insider info, they're just reading the team leaves and playing around with the odds to induce bets.

My money is still firmly on Moore.
Yeah, I don't believe this. BS is okay, decent interview, seems smart enough, but no charisma or anything outstanding for Jerry to sell.

As you've said, this is the kind of thing Jerry's PR machine floats out there to make Moore sound better.

Do we know it's even a thing? Haven't they announced all their formal interviews? And BS hasn't been announced, has he?

I will say that in the BS interviews and PCs I've seen, he at least doesn't come off as a pushover paper boy like Kellen. If anything, BS is a little cocky and douchey.

The only thing that I've seen is the interview with Frazier today. Everybody else is speculation by media - Schefter, national, and local.

As much as I hate the idea of Moore, I'd prefer Moore.
Not me.

Because when this thing fails, and it absolutely will, at least we won't have to suffer through it long because they have no ties to Schottenheimer or admire him the way they do Moore and Witten, so he won't get the leash to have one shitty season after the other the way Moore would.

So in a best case scenario, Schottenheimer sucks, they get rid of him after a year or two, Moore has either been hired somewhere else or the shine is off him by then and he's no longer a candidate, and maybe by then Jerry is dead or they go back to looking for a serious coach again.

Win/win.

Depends on the length of contract. Jerry won't pay him to sit at home. :nodno

Still don't know that there's really anything to this, but it almost makes me wonder if they didn't like how Kellen's interview went.

I get that argument but if they hire Schottenheimer you best believe Witten will be on the staff, and when it fails Witten will become the HC, so there's no real difference I don't think.

I'm going to believe that it's going to be Moore until the exact moment news breaks that they've hired someone else.

I'd be truly shocked if they chose a guy in Schottenheimer who has been here for 3 years over Moore who was around the organization for damn near a decade and is best boyz with Dak.

His resume should be damming.

Hurts and Herbert had arguably the worst seasons of their pro careers with Moore as their OC. Also factor in that Dak immediately played at an MVP level once McCarthy kicked Moore out of Dallas.

Look at the current state of the Eagles. Their passing game is flat out broken. If Saquon goes down with an injury that offense is done.

I'm just scattershooting here, but I wonder if it's possible they have some intel that Moore has a good chance of being hired at and/or would prefer New Orleans or Jacksonville (or wherever he interviewed)?

I still doubt this happens, but if you insist on continuity -- and even Jimmy said that was important for Dak :doh -- I guess it's possible.

And I shouldn't say this, but of our craptastic field, I'm not sure he'd even be that bad. He does have some swagger to him, if you're worried about "commanding a room" and all that. Which I think is overrated at the NFL level, but it's not nothing, either.

Side note, it sounds like a joke, but is there any chance Jimmy wants to sabotage Jerry? I couldn't believe Jimmy said that about keeping Dak comfortable. That seems so unlike Jimmy.

Good news is that Schefter has heard nothing about Goof Schot getting a HC job.

He hates doing that, but he also won't stand for it if we're as bad as I think we'll be under Schottenheimer.

The heat has never been hotter on Jerry than it is right now. And if they have a bad season next year, which they most certainly will with any of the coaches on that list, and then another bad season after that?

The criticism will be relentless and the Cowboys won't be the draw that Jerry is used to.

That is what will make him get rid of a coach prior to his contract expiring.
