Yeah the problem is the 49ers D-coordinator job is open and most speculate him going back there unless he gets a head coaching job. But I could be off the mark on that. I think if given the choice between defensive coordinator of the 49ers or D-coordinator here, he probably choses San Fran.

As much as I’d hate to admit it, Nodak has a point. If this isn’t even entertainment anymore, what is it? It’s not healthy, that’s for sure. There was a point earlier in the year when I had a game on and my 8 year daughter said “we’re rooting for the cowboys!”, I didn’t hesitate to tell her “no, you don’t have to do that, pick another team.”.

There was a time in my youth, pre-fatherhood, when I imagined what it might be like to root for my team with my kids like I used to with my Dad. Those times are so special to me even today. It’s gotten so bad that I don’t want that shit for myself or for my kids. It’s not like I’m raising two football fans anyway, my girls couldn’t give less of a shit about the game either way, but it’s definitely an eye opener for me.

There was a stint during the Garrett era where I only came here because this place is special because of the guys who we’ve spent decades getting to know. I love you all. In a weird way I really do, and maybe that’s gay, and who gives a shit if it is?

McCarthy sucked me back in for a few years, but I don’t have it in me to care enough to stick around and be a drag to those that actually still care.

That is exactly why I do all the work to keep this place moving. As gay as it may sound (and I don't give a shit) I consider you all brothers. This will be year 21. That is a helluva long time for a core group of guys to stay together. Especially with all of the crashes we have had and all that.
