Based on the highlights I saw this morning, we also missed his usual padding of the stats that make it look like he actually played a decent game.

He did absolutely nothing until they were down 27-10 in the 4th.
Untrue. He threw two brutally retarded picks.

I'm pretty sure that if our running game continues at this pace it's going to go down as one of the worst in the last 10-20 years.

And I don't see any reason why it'd get much better than it's been.
Yeah, this is the worst ever. It makes the hambrick era look good.

The only positives I can come up with at the moment are that guys like Golston and Wheat seem to have developed into pretty solid run-stuffing DE's, and Golston in particular has been quite solid. They're being forced into playing way too many snaps because of the injury situation but I think both of them would fit a Belichick-style scheme pretty nicely.

Guyton seems to be improving a bit as well, and Beebe continues to be solid, everything else is pretty much shit.

Going back to 2003...
#1 Worst. 2006, Lions 71
2005, Cardinals 71
2019, Dolphins 72
2024, Cowboys 74

And the records of those three teams?

3-13, 5-11 and 5-11.

The dirty little secret in the NFL these days where everybody wants to obsess over the passing game, QB's and WR's, is that aside from the Chiefs almost every top team over the last few years has built their offense around the running game in one form or another.

Some are RB-centric like the 49ers and Lions, while others are QB-centric like the Eagles, Bills and Ravens, but the common thread is that all these offenses have invested heavily at RB/OL or have gone all-in on using their QB's legs to keep their offense balanced.

And zooming in on just this season the teams that are doing surprisingly well are leaning heavily on the running game - the Vikings with Jones, the Falcons with Bijan, and the Skins with Robinson/Ekeler and their QB.

You shouldn't be taking RB's in the top 5, and ideally you shouldn't be making your RB the highest paid guy in the league, but having a strong running game is still arguably the most important path to having a balanced, consistent offense, while we literally don't have a starting-caliber RB and are on pace for one of the worst rushing offenses in team history.

But I'm sure Jap Park has some spreadsheet arguing why it all makes sense.

Reading this tweet, I couldn't help but think about that Mr. McMahon Netflix documentary. McMahon attempted to monetize off of any and every incident. Got sued for sexual harassment/assault....he made it a WWE storyline. Shafted Brett Hart in the Montreal Screw Job....he makes it a storyline and even brings Hart back years later.

That's exactly how Jerry's wired. Making money, entertaining, and being in the public eye will always trump doing the right thing.

Like how in 2014 he said drafting Johnny Manziel would have kept the Cowboys ‘relevant’ for the next ten years.

I wanted Johnny Manziel too. Mainly just for the entertainment and to break the routine. :lol

We were coming off our third straight 8-8 season and we were stuck with the clapping ginger with no end in sight.

It's a sobering thought, ain't it?
It really is.

Hambrick was average, but he was capable of the 100 yard game every now and again and because he was such a big guy, he would break tackles once he had a full head of steam going.

Basically, you're right -- he would be an upgrade over what we have right now and that's pretty sad considering he was nothing special.

None of the guys on the roster right now are capable of a dookie stick game.

And the infuriating thing is, RB is also one of the cheapest positions on the field. You can get one of the best in the league for 8-10 million per year, and there are plenty of good ones in the $5-8 range.

One of the most important positions and one of the cheapest?

Obviously we should ignore it completely. :picard
