Yeah, I don't get it and I don't like it.

I'm all for enjoying the bragging rights that comes with beating a hated rival, but not if it makes you looks lame.

Some of these kids were in junior high school when Mayfield last played at OU so I really don't understand where that came from.

Absolutely, and they played an awesome game. Yall have a really good team this year as much as I hate to say it.

It's like Jim Harbaugh pointed out.

Day was born on third base but acts like he hit a triple.
That really is the perfect analogy. What’s laughable is that he doesn’t know what to do in big situations. He and Lincoln Riley share that trait. They look great against scrubs, but are very poor at situational football and in-game adjustments against real competition.

— Pass-protection technique needs refining.
— After reaching top-speed, there is not another gear.

— 2023 Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year; All-Mountain West First Team

OVERALL
Ashton Jeanty is the best pure and natural running back in college football. His running style is predicated on its natural flow, pacing, and tackle-breaking ability.

Jeanty is a patient runner who tempers his pace to allow his OL time to engage and secure their blocking assignments. With plus-level vision, he quickly finds daylight through designated gaps. Jeanty uses quick and decisive footwork to sift through the defensive front seven, breaking into the open field. He possesses lateral explosiveness to string together cuts, forcing missed tackles in a phone booth. He is advanced at navigating traffic and congested quarters.

Jeanty has an elite-level contact balance and is difficult to bring down. He pinballs off defenders and absorbs their attempted tackles while staying on his feet. Jeanty is a yards-after-contact merchant--his ability to get stronger upon defensive contact is impressive. Jeanty is a momentum runner who powers through arm tackles and delivers a stiff arm to break free from defenders. His burst and acceleration possess enough juice or explosive to pop through the line of scrimmage and reach top speed quickly in the open field. He has multiple long/explosive touchdown runs on his resume this season.

Jeanty must be stopped at the line of scrimmage or behind it. He is most vulnerable as a ball carrier when he cannot build forward momentum. Despite having a good burst to reach top speed quickly, there is no next gear after that. This raises questions on whether his ability to generate big plays (50+ yards) will translate to the NFL at the frequency it has in college.

Jeanty is a willing and competitive pass protector, but his technique needs refining. His hands and punches can be sloppy, leading to not securing his defender. At times, he approaches blocks with low hands, giving up his chest to second-level defenders attacking downhill with momentum. In short-yardage situations, Jeanty runs with a high pad level, which can limit his effectiveness in converting those plays. Running with lower pad leverage increases his ability to power through the defensive front for hard-earned, must-have yards.

Overall, Ashton Jeanty is a high-volume and playmaking running back. Between his bowling ball-esque frame and innate contact balance, Jeanty's game translates incredibly well to the NFL. The ability to create for himself with the ball in his hands is electrifying. He fits today's run offenses with wide zone and pin-pull gap schemes. Jeanty is a star-caliber bell-cow running back who can shoulder the load for an NFL rushing attack.

GRADE: 8.8 (Impact player — 1st Round)
OVERALL RANK: 6
POSITION RANK: RB1
PRO COMPARISON: Shades of LaDainian Tomlinson

I'd guess he's a 4.5 speed guy without the top gear of someone like Jahmyr Gibbs.
If I had to guess I'd say 4.45. He isn't blazing fast but he is pretty damn fast. I just don't see him as a 4.3 freak type. But anywhere between 4.4 and 4.5 is what I would expect.
