Same way Melania got a visa?

I don't know anything about that, but surely you aren't dense enough to think there isn't an enormous difference between a first lady - who has zero office whatsoever - and the freaking president of the United States and leader of the God damn world.

Surely you aren't so dense as to not understand the difference.

I didn’t watch the debate, I’ve seen a few clips here and there on twitter. I read the post debate reactions in this thread and figured Trump had a bad night.

Polls aren’t suggesting that at all. The few that have come out are showing he gained with independents and had a 3 point swing in Michigan where he was down 2 and now up 1.

I think people underestimate just how much America hates a cunt. Hillary is and was a cunt, Kamala is definitely a cunt.

She can’t win. Not where it matters.

He is sitting on a very bad Combine workout.

Actually that's probably the opposite.

Usually you are less inclined to debate if you think you are winning and the debate won't help you.

Like with Trump in the primaries. No reason to debate.

He might be feel like he's in a good spot right now.

Look at who is clamoring for another debate, though. Trump was unscathed coming out of this one. Harris won’t agree to a debate where the moderators aren’t there to do the work for her. Just today there’s a whistleblower saying she was given the debate questions ahead of time.

Ask yourself, in a fight, who is the one usually asking for that rematch while their eyes are swollen shut and CTE is cooking in their brain? It’s the loser, it’s never the winner.

According to who? Tv pundits who hate his guts? Of course they were loooking for an opportunity to lay the bar on the ground and see if Harris could step over it instead of trip.

It doesn’t matter what policy wonks and political junkies on TV think. It matters what people at home heard.

Listen to the closing statement again. There’s a reason why lawyers don’t open with their closing statement.

You know this is my biggest problem with the debate. It felt at times like Trump had to debate the moderators and Harris. A debate should be one on one. IF Harris calls Trump out on his bullshit, that's fair game. Just like Trump should call Harris out on her bullshit. But to have moderators prepared to basically say, hey what you're saying isn't true, seems a bit unfair. Especially when this thing is supposed to be unscripted. So the moderators are just prepared with these things ahead of time? Without knowing what's going to be said? Or is the moderator just giving their opinion too? Which also seems wildly inappropriate in a debate.

Anyway, I'm all for checking the facts on things these two people say at a debate. But I think the whole moderators interjecting thing is really dumb and creates clearly an imbalance. It gives the impression that these moderators are somehow the all knowing fact finders and whatever they say is true, which isn't the case.

Speaking of which Goldman Sachs completely walked back whatever Kamala was trying to brag about. They claimed it was some independent work that like one analyst did based on a total of like 4 policy issues between the two. And he said the difference in predicted GDP on those policies was so small it meant nothing.

But hey, those moderators weren't ready for that one.

I am not.

I'm all for treating people like adults and letting them decide for themselves what they agree with or believe.

Checking facts gives a very, very false impression that these news people are to be trusted with discerning fact from fiction, and nothing could be further from reality.

Case in point.

But when you have "fact checking" it gives people the false impression that if they don't debunk something it must be true. And that's simply not the case.

It also gives credence to the very very dangerous notion that censorship is ok, because things like checking facts and combating misinformation is more important.

That's a really bad road to be going down.

I don't think I was clear with what I meant. What I meant was someone like myself looking at the things said after the debate, and deciding if they are true or not. To me, I'm all for that. What I'm not for is a moderator or network or website giving me some made up figure and claiming there were 16 lies on Trumps side verse 2 lies on Harris's side.

I appreciate actual critical thinking by an individual who watches the debate. Again, I find myself doing it all the time with this political shit.

Oh ok, yeah I agree that people should look into things for themselves and not just blindly take what any politician says at face value. Most people probably won't though.

For Christ sakes, they flat out denied that Haitians are eating pets in Ohio. They did their independent research and talked to a city manager?

I can show you a video of a Haitian sitting in a driveway eating a raw fucking cat while the owners are explaining to the police what’s going on in real time.

You can’t say it’s not happening if it’s actually a thing that is happening. They did this same shit with the Aurora Colorado apartment complexes several weeks back, then they just continue to ignore it when people are posting videos of what’s going on because nobody wants to report it.
