You just have to have an understanding that this is fool's gold.

The defense looks different this year. I don't know what that means as the season goes on but they look so much more fundamentally sound. Last year Cleveland would have ran us off the field.

They were playing an elite defense. And frankly got away with a lot of holding and no calls in the secondary. I expected a slow start out of the offense. Hell look at the last couple of years. Anyway, move on and keep improving. I thought we would lose this one so happy to come out with a win.

My short takeaways:

Overshown is a fucking missile

DLAW looked very good

Guyton did extremely well against the best defensive player in the league

Dak struggle in the second half (I think some conservative play calling contributed to that)

Kendricks looked very good

Carson also held his own pretty well, even being targeted a lot

Special Teams B- ( only because of Aubrey and Turpin )

Good performance against a up and coming team in the Browns … I don’t like the penalty count especially on special teams ( killing field position ). Dak was not worth the extension he received at 11am this morning( at least today ) … Micah and Lawrence were as advertised…. Jourdan Lewis really stood out to me today.. Overshown was great … Brandon Aubrey .. can’t say enough .

Running game was as bad as advertised. If you want a negative, that's it.

The offense completely throttled down after halftime, which makes sense given the circumstances. The key is that they came out playing well against a top defense on the road and built an early lead that dictated the game from there.

Dak didn't need to do much after halftime and McCarthy wasn't going to risk their defense naming a big play by being too aggressive.
