It's funny how quickly things change though. Go back a few years and Dalvin Cook with Zeke would have been the best RB combo in the NFL by far.

But both are mistakes in my opinion. RB is all about young and fresh legs. I don't like the idea of going with old and worn out RBs.
Of course, but we're at a point where we really don't have a choice due to how poorly we managed that situation.

I actually have a little faith in you Mcnuttz. Jerry, not so much.
It's maddening how he gave Zeke the richest RB contract, then shifts gears and totally ignores the position in FA & the draft.

Then he dares to declare that he is best suited to GM this team.

He's a marketing genius, I will give him that...but it's time to hire a person who thinks about football 24/7.

Im on the same page with you there. No denying he is a good businessman, but that isn't the same as GM.

I think it's pretty obvious that Cook was significantly impacted by the offseason shoulder surgery he had last year, whereas Elliott was generally 100% healthy.

He could just be completely cooked physically, but I'm guessing he'll be much better this season than last season considering his production in 2021 and 2022, where he was of course significantly better than Elliott.

Maybe but that's speculation not fact.

Watching other teams' roster cuts like a poor kid at Christmas.

Yup.... Plus Zeke got the opportunity to play with regularity whereas Cook did not.

I don't think that's as big an issue as it's made out to be generally. In fact it might be an advantage to have less carries. Less wear and tear and often the defense will key on you less, which is why sometimes a backup RB will fool you into thinking he could be just as productive in a full time role (for example hambrick or Randle).

They have both been on a steady decline and I don't really want either on the roster. But I'd probably say Cook has a better chance of sort of bouncing back. His 2022 season was pretty good. We would all take that year in a heart beat. Zeke's 2022 season on the other hand was pretty shitty, just like his 2023 and I don't see any bouncing back for a physical guy like him. Plus we all got a front row seat to watching Zeke's decline. I know there is no coming back. I don't know as much about Cook. I certainly haven't watched him as much.

But both are mistakes in my opinion. RB is all about young and fresh legs. I don't like the idea of going with old and worn out RBs.

This is the best take on this subject.

Would absolutely love this.

Like Lawson you have no idea exactly where he's at physically, but if he's anywhere near what he was in 2021-22 he's a really good player who would be a strong fit in Zimmer's scheme. The FO has been killing it with these low-risk/high-reward defensive additions the last few weeks.

It's that kid pulling all the levers... the grandson. WTF is his goofy name?
I did notice Stephen's kid, the QB, walking with the esteemed braintrust into the locker room after the game last week.

Well one of the reasons we have signed CB Kemon Hall twice is because he picked off the grandson in college.
You serious Clark?
