Why are you so pro-Briles for UT? Afraid he'll dominate west Texas for good if he stays?
I am a huge Briles fan. The guy has influenced Texas high school football more than you can imagine. He was the president io the Texas high school coach association and did a great job. He's given countless hours to helping high school coaches. We had his staff out to our coaching clinic. With high school coaches he is still one ofnthe few that is considered as one of us. What he does during his practices is truly top notch and the key to his success. My fellow red raiders generally hate him and accuse him of being a cheater. They are just jealous though becaus Baylor needs to keep being baylor. Nothing stings worse than losing to those assholes.

Frankly Baylor, TCU, OU and OSU are our main competitors. Texas really is not because they are so far ahead of the rest in terms of money, power and recruiting. They will continue to dominate the recruiting trail for years to come. We win a few each year against them For recruits but they get who they want. A new coach can only make that better. TTU is not going to knock them off of that platform for a long time. Yes, they will occasionally beat them in the field but let's be honest...we don't compete with them in much else. I want Texas to fail on every level but I would much rather see baylor lose their biggest weapon. As far as tech is concerned they benefit much more if Baylor suffers.

That's pretty much how I feel about Baylor as well, Skid. The worst thing that can happen to OU and all the other Texas schools is for Baylor to become a perennial power in football. Because that will thin the recruiting pool.

This goes for TCU as well. Imma need them to go back to sucking. They're already regressing, just need them to keep declining and take Baylor with them.

TCU does not belong in the big 12. I'm still pissed about that. Them failing feels so good. There's a reason that I call them purple aggie.

This is almost exactly how I feel about it.

Patterson can coach him some defense. Can't stand the guy.

A lot of people said the same about us and Baylor when we went to the Big 12.

:lol @ "thinning the recruiting pool" in the state of Texas. This isn't a bunch of schools in the northwest or northeast. There's plenty of players to go around.

It thins the 4 and 5 star recruits. It's hard enough with the Florida schools and OU snatching up players, but to have more Texas schools with recruiting power hurts even more.

Here's a guy who doesn't get it. Winning or losing head to head recruiting battles in your home state is just about as important as anything. The shift for that may be the most important thing about Texas college football.

Dude, believe me I get it. My school goes head to head with UF, FSU, Miami, USF and basically every other SEC and ACC school trying to poach FL kids.

What I'm laughing at is you can build a great team with just 3 and 2 star kids with some impact 4 or 5's sprinkled in if you pick the right kids and develop them. And being that its Texas, there are plenty of kids to choose from.

Pfft. I used that same excuse all year with ND and Golson and nobody gave a shit and rightly so.
Nobody gave a shit because ND isn't remotely close to the same talent level as LSU or Georgia no matter who your QB is.
