Our entire gameplan on offense was built on small ball.

All the passes are short and have been since kickoff.

This is on Fat Mike. This is not an especially talented defense, especially with Hyde out.

They did go deep in the first drive but Dak missed the throw. Unfortunately we had bad Dak today.

I think about 80 % of the passes Dak threw were about 5 yards or less. Buffalo shortened the field and crushed those receivers. Very predictable game plan and the Bills took advantage.

I said all week that I didn't like the spot and thought Allen's legs would make the difference, and believe me, I know exactly who Epenesa, Milano, White and Hyde are, which is why I said if we could pass protect we should be able to pop a few plays down field.

Obviously going down 14+ early in weather mostly kills that.

I said all week that the spot favored Buffalo since we were coming off the biggest win of the year, on the road, primed for a letdown, playing a more desperate team and in bad conditions.

We got outplayed obviously but the two ridiculous calls that extended Buffalo drives in the first half is what led to things getting out of control, short of that it's likely a one score game at halftime. The run defense was probably too bad to have won regardless but the game got out of control early because of some very marginal calls, with no 50/50 calls really going our way.
Isolating the offense from defense, it’s most disappointing the offense couldn’t recollect itself and turn it on.

Whatever offensive level of execution we see in the first quarter/first half, that’s our fate the rest of the game.

Correct me if I’m wrong, only time I’ve seen Dak Prescott against decent competition start cold and get hot is rookie year Div Playoff vs Packers.

It’s kind of like the Emmitt Smith debate. Lots of RBs could’ve had success, but Emmitt brought something extra. Sure there was often a hole opened by the OL, but it wasn’t always the designed hole and Emmitt had the superpower of finding and getting to it.

Difference between Purdy and Jimmy G, Purdy completes that pass to Emmanuel Sanders bomb in stride to clinch the Super Bowl.
It's nothing like Emmitt, most of his OL was damn near 30 and never did anything of note despite being in the league 5+ years before Emmitt. Emmitt made the OL more than the OL made him.

Purdy on the other hand is mostly a function of offensive design and scheme than pure surrounding talent. The strength of the roster is obviously a big advantage, and it's arguably the best in the league, but the real advantage is in the design of the offense and the passing game.

You think it's a coincidence that the majority of the "hot shot" offensive HC's around the league are all from Shannahan's tree?

McVay, McDaniel, Zac Taylor, O'Connell, hell the Texans OC is from the same tree and has Stroud looking like a franchise QB and won a game on the road today with Keenum. LaFleur is also from Shannahan's tree and has obviously had plenty of success.

Purdy has talent but no more so than a guy like Kirk Cousins, he just so happens to have fallen into the perfect situation.

You keep saying "weather". But there was no "weather" until the game was decided late in the 3rd quarter.

Once again, simply not mentally tough enough.

If the ring and fate of the kingdom can be entrusted to a hobbit, we can entrust an Eagles loss and the division crown to another unlikely hero, Tommy DeVito.
yeah but don’t the eagles need to lose twice now?

I have more faith in Samwise Gamgee than Tommy Devito.

At QB.

No, Emmitt did not make the OL, football doesn’t work that way.

They started cold against Philly on the road this year I believe, I'm sure there were some others.

The offense was disappointing overall but it was also 14-0 after two drives which feeds into the strength of Buffalo's defense (pass rush), while Martin went down. They only had three drives before Buffalo had put up 21 and I thought two of the three were decent enough but got stuck due to the Tyler penalty on the first drive, and then only settling for a FG on the third.

I'm not going to say the Tyler hold was a terrible call like the Lawrence and Kearse penalties, but I've seen worse go uncalled. I also hated the play call on 2nd and 1 on the Bills 10 or so on the drive after we went down 14-0 which kind of left us settling, but two of the first three drives got pretty deep into Buffalo territory before the game was totally out of hand.

The defense was barely holding on with how bad they were against the run, but they were holding on, the penalties that extended drives just completely put things over the top.

Eagles need to lose to an NFC team and if both teams win out thereafter, we should win the division with tied 13-4.

Now, beating the Dolphins and the Lions isn’t a given, so we may need the Eagles to drop 2 of 3 to Geno/DeVito.

It's not his physical talent that sets him apart, it's his ability to grasp a concept, adapt and then think the game successfully. Although, I don't think he gets nearly enough credit for some of his passing skills and ability to move the pocket and escape pressure.

I heard Parson's name about a hundred times before the game, and then was wondering if he was even playing during the game. But, the guy is a pass rushing specialist and monster, and when all you do is run the ball, it takes his talents out of the game.

Are the early 90s OL one of the greatest all time?

He didn't exactly distinguish himself today. Sometimes it feels like if he doesn't get to the QB, no one does. Fowler and Armstrong are repeating their late season swoon from last year, and DLaw is a run stopper only at this point.
