I’m not a fan of Dak by any stretch of the imagination, but he was really good tonight. There’s no way we win this game without him playing the way he did. He made one bad throw and one risky throw. The rest was very, very good. It’s evident that he’s much more comfortable running a WCO than any of the bullshit that Garrett and Moore forced him to run.
If you're talking about the one to Gallup he was held pretty badly on that. I actually don't think it was a bad throw. Gallup was mugged at the top of that route which allowed him to get a hand on the ball.

Even the risky throw to Lamb ended up actually going right through Lambs hands. Lamb is a stud and had a great game but there were a couple plays that just kind of sucked. That fourth down being the worst.

You spotted the two throws I was referring to, yes. And, even though Gallup was held, the throw was a bit off. No big deal, really. Every QB makes an errant throw every now and then. There wasn’t a serious risk of that pass being picked off. It was just a tick off target. Regardless, he was sensational tonight. No doubt about that.

The defense had a lull last year at this time funnily enough. They turned it back around and I'd guess this year they will also.

I don't think I'd start Dowdle but I think I'd move their snaps closer to even.
Well, if anything, we need to reevaluate how we use them. Dowdle is better equipped to handle those carries we are forcing on Pollard up the middle when the box is stacked. I don't mind running him between the tackles, but do it in better situations. Not when the D is geared up for the run. He needs space to use his wheels and wiggle.

We also need to tip our hats to Ferguson. He’s becoming a really solid TE and, not only a nice security blanket underneath, but he’s running some very solid deep routes as well.

One last point about the defense. They just finished playing their 3rd game in 12 days. Maybe fatigue is/was a factor. We now have ten days to rest and heal up. Let's hope we regain our focus for the stretch run.

DaRon Bland is still Daddy.
He’s got some shit to work on, but I think he’ll be fine. This might have been a good wake up call for him. Shit was coming almost too easy for him, and he got a big head. Keep him humble and working, so this doesn’t happen again.

Luckily, Dak and the offense pulled out the win so he didn’t have to take this punch in the face in a loss.

Overall I'm not too worried about the defense since this seemed like one of those games where they're not totally locked in because they've been getting praised for a month, but I do worry about our CB's against tall/physical WR's. Diggs is a legit 6-2 with length, the rest of our guys are kinda smallish and it showed tonight against Metcalf, I worry it'll show against Brown too.

With all that said, the first TD was pretty flukey and most of their damage came from Geno hitting quick hitting 5-7 yarders similar to what Howell was doing last week. I thought Bland was kinda shitty in the first half last week but the pick-6 covered it up, then tonight everything just went haywire.

But it was important to tough out some wins late in games, you can't go into the playoffs barely playing tight games in the 4th all year. I don't think we have much of a chance to win the division with the Eagles pulling out all these BS wins by the skin of their teeth, so I don't know how important a win it is in the grand scheme of playoff seeding, but having to gut out some games will serve them well in the playoffs.

We basically clinched the 5 seed at the absolute least though, so that's something.

It's probably for the best that they had to squeak out a close one. We know the last thing this team needs is to have smoke blown up its ass for 10 days before a big game.
