So, what was the deal with CeeDee? By recent game standards, he was a no show.

It's diminished from his best days and his past 5 weeks but it's not as bad as it looks. 6 catches and 67% completion rate are both very solid. It's a much bigger problem if there are a lot of incompletions resulting from the targets, which isn't the case here.

They didn't get downfield with him but I suspect the Panthers were working hard to prevent that. Which is one of the reasons getting Cooks and Ferguson involved is so important.

Somewhat but I'm not saying we need to go run heavy necessarily, but we can't be like 2:1 pass to run like we were in the first half yesterday for no good reason.

I appreciate wanting to use the pass to set up the run, get a lead, force teams to pass and all that, but the run game wasn't that bad in the first half to necessitate that sort of disparity.

The first drive of the game showed how pass heavy the game plan was in my opinion, we threw a little bubble screen to Gallup that went for 7 on the very first play (great) but then went shotgun pass, shotgun pass on 2nd and 3, then 3rd and 3 for a three and out.

I do think there were a few play calls here or there yesterday that could have been runs but I don't see it as a long term issue.

The real issue is that we don't trust the running game, and for good reason.

But the way this team personnel is constructed, this is a passing team. They need to work the running game as a supplement to the passing foundation rather than the other way around. If they lean too hard towards passing sometimes, I am ok with that.

But when things get tighter and riskier in the playoffs, can they use the run to take pressure off of the pass and make the defense play more honest? I doubt it.

I mostly agree although I think it's inevitable that teams will start backing off if the pass game continues like this and then we should be able to get some decent production out of the run game. My biggest concern, as you said, is when the playoffs come can we run against 6/7 man boxes against a defense like SF's?

Nice. It amazes me that dudes in their 60s or 70s can still perform like that night after night. I probably couldn't at 51.
