I think the pickle is real.

In what way?

The point by the way isn't that the contract will be difficult - the last one was so it wouldn't be a surprise at all if they have trouble with this one also.

But the point is that Lance doesn't affect that at all. He hasn't remotely shown so far that he's a viable alternative.

dumb: extending Dak
dumber: thinking Lance is the future
Well, if Dak wants 60 mil per year in an extension, I'd rather roll with Lance. Worst thing that can happen is we have to find another QB instead of paying 60 mil per year to a good QB and wrecking the rest of the cap.

60 mil per year? Where did you hear that?

Just speculation based on chatter that he will try to maximize his contract due to theoretically having the front office over a barrel.

Let's say he does want 60 per year? Everyone OK with paying that to a guy who isn't even great much less elite? I'd rather move on.

Even if it balloons to that, so will the cap.
Oh, I have no doubt it will eventually get there. And like you said, the cap will go up right along with it.

But to think we'll be seeing a 60 mil per year contract in the next few months is asinine.

There is ZERO chance of that happening. Hell, if Mahomes asked for 60 mil per right now, they'd tell him to get bent. It just isn't feasible with where the cap is right now. Don't go by numbers per year. Figure the percentage of cap it would take.

Justin Hebert is already at around 53 per year and hasn't won shit either.

Who is the next QB that is up?

Looked it up. Not much next offseason but the following you have Dak, Lawrence, and Burrow.

There's a 0.0% chance Dak gets 60/year from us or anybody else unless we win the Super Bowl this year and he's a MVP candidate while doing so.
