Finally got around to watching John Wick 4. The first half of the movie I was completely unimpressed. Everybody is wearing bullet proof clothing and there is no nuance to the fighting. Also for being a movie series that was kind of decent on the gun physics, they completely ignore the transfer of energy that comes into play when bullets are stopped by armor. Everyone acts like there is no effect. I liked the second half and enjoyed the storyline.

Yeah I watched it on the plane this weekend. Enjoyable for what it was.

I'd argue this was a bit of a self-sabotage. Why in the hell would you release a movie like this in July?

A September release would have made more sense. That way they could have had it in theaters for 30-45 days then roll it out on Disney+ right before Halloween.

Remake of a movie that wasn’t great in the first place, based off of a ride that is fun but not what I would call iconic, and that no one I know thought was a good idea. Disney thinks everything it owns has a magical ability to make money. Hopefully this will get then to calm down a little. Doubtful but I can hope.

Nothing makes sense in that industry right now.

They are really going to mess up if they cannot find ways to make flicks like they used to.

30 years ago? My God.

You were getting killed with options.

Now you get a sad ass remake of something or a shock movie about something hot button.

Remakes, sequels to an old franchise, and comic book movies.

That's about all they can come up with these days.

And now we have a strike so it will get worse.

Speaking of the strike, on the network TV side of the house, a co-worker told me the networks were going to fill their Fall schedules with content that was previously only available on streaming services.

For instance, a show like Tulsa King that is currently only available on Paramount+ could be aired on CBS on Tuesday nights.

And on Wednesday nights Survivor will be 90 minutes when it comes back on... Hells yes.

Anyone remember the German film The Tin Drum?

I remember it was controversial when I was a kid and I remember bits of it.

Sat down and watched all 3 hours or whatever of it this past weekend.

Wow. It was a raw, trippy ass movie, especially for back then.
