My point is I am just like you up to a point but I don't wish bad things for the team or hope they lose games. I don't give a shit about about Jones so the only difference in you and me is how we regard the team. Ask me to root against them and I will tell you to forget it. Jones owns the team and there in nothing to change that but I get pretty riled when refusing to go against the team, someone tells me I must be a Jones supporter. To that I will tell anyone to fuck off.
Love you, LT, but what in the blue hell does any of that have to with boycotting?

And by boycott, I mean the commercial boycott, not the social boycott. I think that may be where the confusion lies.

I'm still a fan, too. I'm failing to grasp your point.

It's not about boycotting with me. It's about recent sentiment of some who think supporting the team is directly showing support for Jones and his style. Even to the extent of wishing for failure of the team.

W-L's don't get Jerry's attention. The only thing that does is $$$. I root for the team to win but am not going to fund Jerry. If enough people did that and he faced a half empty stadium on a weekly basis it could cause him to step back like he did the only time in the last 20 years when he hired Parcells.

While I'm sure he would like to win, he obviously won't do everything possible to try to win. As long as he's making money he's content with being large and in charge even if it means we continue to lose. Unfortunately there isn't enough people to put a pinch in Jerry's wallet. Too many are idiots like SP who are just as content with buying merchandise and tickets and funding Jerry's BS while the team continues to nosedive.

I get that, but that's not what was being discussed. That's why you got confusion from me.

What's stupid is for fans to continue to support Jerry Jones.

Another stupid thing, this is for Jerry as well as the fans that support him, is for someone to do the same thing over, and over, and over, and over while expecting different results.

Jerry won't change so the results won't change. Have fun with that, superfan.

The whole point of fandom is getting irrationally emotionally invested in something you have no control over. If you can't handle that, maybe professional sports fandom isn't for you. We don't have any more control over Jerry than we did when he won three super bowls, it's just something we have to deal with for better or worse.

oh but maybe a boycott or billboard will do something

The only control we have is the money we feed into it. So, yeah...

I admire that....and I will put my Cowboys loyalty against anyones.

I root for losing because its the ONLY thing that gives the fan base a chance to get Jones to change what he's doing. Hanging around at .500 has worked for Jerry...he's ok with it. Listen to him talk...he BELIEVES that its ok to be a .500 team.

The only thing that has made Jerry pause are the really bad 4-12, 5-11 seasons.

Finishing at .500 is OK with Jerry...he's made that his new benchmark. His whole excuse machine is built around finishing at .500 and somehow backing into the playoffs.

I know you are a really smart guy, no doubt about it...but can you honestly say that's a recipe that a winning organization follows?

It's obviously not about winning.

You can't deny that a roller coaster season isn't entertaining.

Jones is getting exactly what he wants.

Sad as it is to say, .500 is okay with he majority of our fanbase too, it seems.

The Redskins and Browns changed because of both those tactics.

Snyder actually was doing a pretty good job letting actual football people run his operation- and then he decided he couldn't sit idly by while Griffin was complaining. He wasn't happy with the way Shanny was trying to use Griffin. Not happy because Shanny wasn't defending Griffins poor play. He undermined Shanny....players started whispering, calling each other out...and the Skins go from division champs to has-beens.

Sound familiar? Jerry is running the same MO. And, no surprise....a lackluster performing team year in and year out.

I don't wear Cowboys merchandise anymore because, well....I'm an adult, but you can bet if I had a kid who didn't have any gear he'd be getting some for Christmas, and anyone who claims they'd do otherwise on some sort of boycott stand is full of shit.

You're all gonna buy shit and you're all gonna keep watching and even if you don't it doesn't fucking matter so enough with the bravado.

My short answer is this. Jones owns the team now and likely will in the future. It is a sad but true fact of life. He will not change and I understand that so all that is left is to support the team. There isn't any other alternative available. Maybe a boycott can be successful but it has a slim chance of success so again all that is left for me is to hope for the best. I am open to another possibility but at this time it is all etched in stone.

The fanbase isn't ok with .500, they're ok as long as they can delude themselves and convince themselves that we could magically go on a run, which they can at .500, much like Jerry's fool ass.

What's the Skins record this year again?
