That making good use of the extra couple weeks he had. Teams like Philly and KC probably don't have time to review all their interceptions....

there was a message here, but it self-destructed itself

Depends on the DTs he is competing against. Most of the legit playoff teams have a solid running mate on the interior. Get a good NT alongside him, then see.
Aside from Hank?

If the talent level was strong enough I could buy it.

But still this kind of player is best in a rotation and not as a 3 down starter.

4 sacks is not a clinic.

Kid has talent, but he should not be starting for a legit playoff team.

I agree that 4 sacks certainly is no clinic but if we had a Pro Bowl-caliber DT, particularly one who could stuff the run and wasn't just an upfield penetrator, Osa would be perfectly fine starting next to him.

I think it's more accurate to say that he shouldn't be the best DT on a legit playoff team.

I'm pretty confident that the improved WR group coupled with the expected change in offensive philosophy (more complex/vertical routes and fewer plays where literally every receiver runs short comebacks) should create easier throws for Dak.

To be fair there were points during the season last year where we were running Lawrence and Armstrong at DT on passing downs. Meaning Osa wasn't really getting as many opportunities on passing downs as you would expect from a 3 tech.

Osa is a decent enough player, but will be yet another DT that doesn't get a second contract in Dallas.

A lot depends on his growth this season. Like others have pointed out, he hasn't gotten a lot of 3rd down reps at 3T, but that in of itself is telling.

For him to start and the defense to be consistently effective vs the best competition, the DT he's paired with has to basically be a pro-bowler.
I think we can be there starting Osa, but it is bad for Micah's career and for the LB's in general.

And even with a star DT playing next to him I'd rotate Osa, to make the most of my roster. Osa just isn't special enough to be a three down starter at this point in his career.
