I also don't think CB is much of a need at all high in the draft.

I disagree.

I know that position is devalued on this board but there's a reason why the league pays CBs so well -- they matter and they matter a lot.

So while it's more important to build your front 7 because they help to neutralize your pass coverage woes, you also can't throw a bunch of average Joes out there either.

Diggs is a great cover guy, but we need another guy we can rely on to hold his own on an island from time to time and neither Anthony Brown nor Jourdan Lewis are that guy.

I love Bland and Muk looks like he has potential, but if you can add a difference maker at that position in the first 3 rounds, then why wouldn't you?

It has nothing to do with devaluing the position and everything to do with Bland/Mukuamu. If we had taken Bland in the 2nd we'd all be penciling him in as an 8 year starter, throw in Mukuamu who looked great in limited snaps and Lewis being a steady slot guy and I'm very comfortable with that group. We could even re-sign Brown for probably a near vet minimum deal as added depth.

I wouldn't be against a CB if it's a BPA situation but I'd have it way down the list of needs, like almost near the bottom.

Glad Al Harris is under contract.

Our DBs haven't played this well in ages.

Every level of the secondary plays sound, smart football.
Yep. I still think it's amazing, and underreported, how both Brown and Lewis played by far the best ball of their careers as soon as he got here. That doesn't happen with multi year corners and here it happened with two of them.

Mel Kiper is an idiot.

I LOVE Bijan, but we need a DT, WR, and CB FAR more than we do a RB.

You can get a damn good RB in the 3rd round nowadays so it would be stupid to spend our 1st rounder on one.

Tag Pollard and draft a guy in the 3rd or 4th, and we're set.
F that. No way do we need to take a RB in the 1st round again.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm not opposed to drafting a corner if the situation is right. But if we don't draft a single corner I still feel great about our defensive backfield. And the fact that we have hit on the later round guys like Bland and Mukuamu while missing on the forced earlier picks on corner tells me it is best to be patient and just draft guys when you see them as great value as opposed to viewing it as some sort of need.

WR/NT/RB probably top my list of needs. Sure there is other stuff, and a lot will depend on who resigns. I absolutely want McGovern and LVE back for example. But McGovern leaves and suddenly interior O-line needs to be a priority. I think Clark has a bright future here but if LVE leaves, we really need another LBer. I'm hopeful that a guy like Ferguson and Hendershot can fill the role at TE but I also wouldn't pass up a guy with game changing athletic ability at the position.

I think RB is a pretty big need. But I'm with you in that you don't need a Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry (Was actually a second round pick) or Zeke in the first. It's a position that in my opinion you try to have a few really good guys from the middle to late rounds and plug them into the system.

Would Robinson be good here? Yeah, I think he would put up great stats for a few years. I think he would make a difference for our offense. Jerry would market the shit out of the guy. Initially we would all probably be really pleased with the pick. But long term I just don't see the value of it over a second, third, fourth round RB. And honestly second round RBs have been great in the NFL. Kenneth Walker was a big reason why that Seahawks offense did what it did. A second round pick.

Yeah, only in a rare circumstance like we found ourselves in 2016 with a team poised to compete for it all but also about to lose its essential super-star RB.

With Pollard's injury and Zeke done, we are closer to this point than I'd like to admit. In fact, we have no complete every down RB on the roster who can breakaway, gain tough yards, and pass protect.

Can't take that for granted, especially in the NFC East.

If they drafted a RB in the 2nd, I myself might not scream too hard about it.

That's why I wouldn't mind signing Josh Jacobs, cost be damned. Restructure Dak and punt the cost to future years.

This is the one thing I wouldn't do. Great season and mad respect for the guy. But every time you see this in free agency their is almost always a massive drop off in production.

Yes you almost have to be prepared for a payoff in year 2.

Kiper always puts out at least one mock for shock value. His final mock will be closer to the "truth."

But if that was the piece that put this offense over the top and helped us to a championship, wouldn’t it be worth it? No different than trading picks and mortgaging the future like the Rams did, imo. People always say they’d be willing to do that.

Prepare for the Gallup is back to 100% and that WR that we drafted that I can't remember his name is making strides so WR isn't a concern in FA stories.

People undervalue RBs. I get that they usually have a short shelf life, but that's a problem for another day. If he can be a difference maker for 3-5 years, I'm down for it.

Amen. Number 4 overall is way too high, but if he's good enough even a pick in the late 20s is fine. Of course he has to be good enough. But I'm definitely fine in the second.

And that's why I wouldn't be upset by it. I do think he would be a big help to my team.

I guess my thought process is why not get say a badass NT and a RB later. Obviously it would be better to get the combination of a legit run stuffer and a legit RB. And I just think it's easier and more long term beneficial to get the RB later. Or say a talented impact WR and a RB. Doesn't that give you a "better" chance to go over the top.

RB just isn't like other positions to me. But maybe Robinson is just that much of a different dude than most RBs and can justify the first round pick. Again, like Zeke I don't think we would regret the pick initially. I think he absolutely would be a boost in the short term because I think he would be really good for us. But there are other backs in this draft that would be really good for us too. And it may give me the ability to add an Adison or someone who can be a real weapon on top of that.
