Raiders at Cowboys | Thanksgiving/Week 14 Gameday Chatter Thread | 11/28/13

Eagles are a lot less predictable than we are. As crazy as all our games are, we beat losers and lose to winners with amazing consistency. Eagles you never know what you're gonna get and who they'll beat and who they'll lose to. However, here are their remaining games:
Cardinals - LOSS (zona is simply a better team) 6-6
Lions - LOSS, 6-7
Vikings - WIN, 7-7
Bears - LOSS, 7-8
Cowboys - WIN 8-8

Meanwhile, here's us:
Bears - LOSS 7-6 (the Bears are better and Romo is always confused by their scheme)
Packers - LOSS 7-7 (I know the Packers are a losing team but once Rogers gets back they will likely turn it around)
Redskins - WIN 8-7
Eagles - LOSS 8-8 (we actually make the playoffs in this scenario because we would be 5-1 in the division and the Eagles 4-2. If it falls this way, we might pack this game in and run out Orton to avoid injuries going into the post-season)
So now we are going to finish 1-3? This team is playing as good as it has all year.

We (is that good) always play good in November. Don't fall for that trap.

Isn't just amazing how efficient Romo is when they run the ball?

Sure hope they don't forget it next week.

At worstnwe go 2-2, which should get us in the playoffs.

The Bears have a pretty porous run D...I certainly hope we emphasize it. Screen game was great too.

We have 3 backs that are good at running screens. It really should be a staple of our offense. Hopefully we emphasize it more going forward.

The Eagles haven't beaten a team above .500 all season so up to this point they've actually been pretty predictable.

And those throws to the backs are uber-Romo-friendly (provided JPP/Rob Jackson are not playing).

As an aside, Jester is pretty much on the hook to start the gameday threads until the badness happens.

I've been saying for a while that the biggest difference in the design of our offense and the design of other pass-first offenses who struggle running and/or don't run the ball very often is that teams like the Saints, Patriots and such are very good in the screen game.

If we can make plays in the screen game it would do wonders for this offense because then every single damn thing we do isn't reliant on Tony dropping back 5-7 steps and throwing downfield.

Andy Reid took heavy criticism in Philly for not running the ball enough. His answer generally was that the short passing game is essentially their running game.

Rams used to do that with Marshall Faulk to some extent too.

ESPN First Take is not a bad show, conceptually.

But they couldn't come up with two bigger idiots to populate the show with.

It was more bearable when it had Woody instead of Stephen A., but it was still bad.

Stephen Nay uses the race card way too much. I don't agree with almost anything he says because of that.
