Jerry's days as an influential figure in the league are winding down, or are over. The last CBA negotiation was like his final hour in the spotlight.

And his son is a goofball idiot.

Jerry pulled a bait and switch after they agreed to terms. That’s sheer arrogance and incompetence on his part. You can’t change terms after they’ve been agreed upon and expect the other party to be ok with it. Gregory has every right to be pissed at that.

NY Rangers are an upcoming team. Have a lot of young talent. They also fit if you are anti-Flyers.

He supposedly left more on the table with Denver to come back, but then Stephen sought to add something (really? you don't have protections in there with Gregory from offer 1?) at the last minute, and...

Assuming Fish was somehow accurate, that type of clause would be warranted given Gregory’s history of letting us down in the clutch. One semi relIable season in how many?

I think one of Jerry & Stephen Jones problems is they're still of the mindset that playing for the Cowboys is seen as something special. They probably still assume that the allure of playing for "America's Team" means something and that they can woo these players into taking cheaper contracts just for the "honor" of wearing a star on the side of their helmets.

It doesn't work like that anymore. The players' morals & personal values have changed over time and it's time for the Cowboys to evolve with the changing times.

And I'm fine with that but that shit should have been mentioned upfront during the opening portion of their negotiations.

The way the Cowboys went about it feels a bit sneaky and underhanded.

If they insisted on this protective language, they should have approached him on it months ago to see if it's palatable. That way you know way ahead of time if it's going to work and if not, you can plan ahead and have an alternate plan in place to fill the position.
