Gosselin: entire staff needs to be reassessed

None of it fucking matters. Nothing is ever going to change until the money starts taking a hit. Nothing. Fuck this shit. I'm so fed up with the mediocrity that is enabled by those fans that sit in those seats. So damn frustrating.

As long as Jerry runs the team the way he is now, you're right......no one will succeed.

Yep. But people still want to believe there's hope, hence the David Shaw or Candidate X pipedreams.

David Shaw. :lol

That would require effort, foresight and Jerry completely ignoring the suggestions of his old fuck drinking buddies.

No. Chance. In. Hell.

I'm one of those that holds out a semblance of hope.

I mean, if I didn't, then why even watch anymore? My only hope is that the Cowboys miss the playoffs one too many years in a row and Jerry eases the grip as he did when he hired Parcells.

If he can't and/or won't, then there's no need for me to even tune in anymore.

Recall he only did that to get the stajyum built. Nothing more.

Maybe, but at some point, the public backlash is going to have to happen....right?

Right?

:sad

Not this year.

The injury excuse will have the foam finger brigade chanting Jerry's name next summer after he gives them a few more "Man In The Mirror" speeches and fires an assistant or two.

I actually think the DFW fanbase is smarter and more critical of Jerry than the rest of the country, and the rest of the state for that matter, is.

If any public criticism is going to come his way, it'll be directly in Dallas. He couldn't give two shits about media criticism, but he doesn't like the type that comes from fans.

C'mon, MacMahon. We need you right now. Get those tough questions out there and make him answer them.

If you're making a head coaching change, the new coach gets to decide who to keep and who not to keep though.

Unless the GM is hiring your hero to be OC before ever hiring the HC. I wonder why we got stuck with a puppet as head coach?

Garrett should have been made the head coach on the spot in 2007, we either would have developed or we'd be done with it by now. The Wade Phillips hiring was an utter disaster on all fronts.

The Jason Garrett hiring might end up much the same way.

I don't think there's any "might" about it - his hiring has also been a disaster because we've had zero success under him while watching even more of our best players' prime years go to waste.

I have been a quiet observer of Garrett since he took over waiting to see if he would eventually grow into the role of a head coach in the NFL. I have for the most part withheld my final assessment but after last night it is clearly evident (at least to me) that he is completely in over his head. I cannot forsee him ever being a winning HC here or elsewhere.

I think he could be successful elsewhere. In fact I'd expect him to be employed elsewhere -- though not as a HC right away -- pretty quickly were he terminated here.

Yeah. I bet teams would be lined up fighting for a chance at the architect of our super duper offense.

People were saying the same thing laughing at Rob Ryan when he bragged that he'd have a job "in 5 minutes."

Lining up, maybe not, but he'll find a spot. It wouldn't surprise me if he is a head coach someday in a more functional environment.
