LOL @ The Eagles

He came off the bench in GB and turned a laugher into a close game before Aaron Jones put it away with a long run. And his legs (106 yards rushing) were huge in the upset vs the Saints. I know you hate the Eagles but you gotta be a little more fair-minded. He showed a lot of good things in his short audition, and Philly obviously agrees.

I'm certainly biased against the eagles, but regardless run first QBs never impress me.

He was 5 for 12 against the packers. That's dreadful.

He was 17 for 30 against New Orleans at about 5.5 ypa.

Those are bad passing numbers.

He came off the bench in GB, meaning no snaps during the week. If he's putting up similar stats three years from now, have at it, but for now the sample is awfully small.

I mean, he looked like a gump against our generally shitty defense after the first two drives, so....yea definitely not concerned if he's their starter next year and into the future.

The funny thing is the Wentz trade barely gave them any capital with which to move up, so they'll either have to mortgage their future (again), take Trey Lance who is probably as much of a project as Hurts, or just start Hurts.

More than I thought the Eagles were gonna get, assuming it’ll be a 2022 mid-first rounder

Even if Wentz turns it around and starts playing well, he's pretty injury prone so I'm not sure we can assume he'll meet the condition between injuries and the possibility of continuing to suck.

If Wentz makes it through the season and plays well enough to hold the job down I doubt it is a mid first round pick either. It's probably a late first rounder at that point. If he sucks to the point that the Colts are picking in the middle to upper portion of the first round I'd expect Wentz to hit the bench and never meet the 70%.

Hitting the 75% snaps milestone to turn it into a first-rounder is essentially 12 full games

Pretty amazing that that little sniveling snake Roseman could weasle his way out of the Wentz debacle where they mortgaged like two drafts by blaming it all on Pederson.
Agreed.

I know it is nice to see them get poor value for what they gave up to get him to begin with, but that little shit Roseman can still emerge unscathed.

Sort of but that's a lot of assets they pissed down the drain with nothing to show for it. And it's pretty much wrecked their cap for this season and it may be a while before they are competitive again as a result.

You hate to see it.

I didn't mean weasel his way out of the situation into a good situation. They got shit value considering what they gave up to get Wentz, combined with the contract they gave him, along with the fact that his value completely tanked in the last 12 months.

I was more marveling at the fact that he's still the unquestioned head of the Eagles football operation despite the fact that pretty much any other GM would've been thrown out along with the HC in this sort of a scenario.

I guess the Super Bowl saved him but that was really more of a masterful coaching job by that 2017 staff rather than the front office building an unbeatable juggernaut of a roster.

I mean, they won it all with Nick Foles for Christ's sake.

He's friends with the owner, so he's in the family portrait.

They're in full rebuilding mode, I think they should play the long game. Forget this draft and if next year there's no franchise QB, get ammo for 2023.

So it looks like a big reason Pederson blatantly threw that Week 17 game was to draft a new QB. And now he's not around to even do that.

I still don't get why they hired that unimpressive guy from Reich's staff if they weren't doing it to try to save Wentz.

Well they couldn't get Reich so they got his minion.
