Jason Garrett and Romo's legacy in Dallas

If defensive failures or successes have nothing to do with HC then the HC isn't doing his job right.

I could be wrong, but off the top of my head, Garrett wasn't the HC during that game. Wade was.

Romeo's prime years have been wasted under Garrett....that is just a simple fact.

I think Romo would have benefited greatly from having a great QB coach.

Wade Wilson has not helped Romo IMO.

I'm guessing if Romo had went to the Saints instead of Brees you'd see a similar level of play from him as you do from Brees. Instead he got this novice fucking red-headed asshole.

Agreed.

I wish now that we had traded him to the 49ers a few years ago. Harbaugh would have been able to win with him and he would have his ring.

Am I the only one who hates it when he does this? You think Landry or Johnson ever did this "I'm just one of the guys" shit? What's next? Chest bumping?

:lol

Funny you should mention that. I was just talking to a Cowboys fan in my office who specifically mentioned that it bothers him. Doesn't really bother me but I can see how it can get under people's skin. Probably wouldn't bother anyone if they were a consistent playoff team though.

It wouldn't, I've seen other coaches do that.

That doesn't bother me either.

My problems with Garrett are with his abilities (or lack thereof) as a leader, coach, and strategist.

my problem is that he embraces Dez when he does well but is passive when he's throwing a hissyfit on the sideline. the coddling never stops.

Another loss that wasn't horrific but it pissed me off nonetheless was a loss about 4 or 5 years ago to the Redskins.

I don't remember the particulars but it was a one possession game for most of the game and we only ran the ball something like 10 times the entire game and passed closed to 50 times.

Who can forget the season opener against the Redskins when Romo threw the game winning TD only to have it negated by a holding penalty. I think it was 2010.

Ughh.....the Alex Barron game.

I tell you, this team finds the most creative ways to lose games.

I've never seen a team lose as dramatically as often as the 2006-present Cowboys. Most teams will have a loss like that every few years or so. The Cowboys have a couple of losses like that every year.

I love Romo but Brees is on another level. And we can't pretend like New Orleans didn't just blow a game just as badly as we did against a MUCH worse offense.

As my previous post mentions, teams are going to have losses like that from time to time, but the Cowboys seem to have cornered the market in those types of losses.

The Saints probably won't lose a game like that for another couple of years but I'd bet a week's salary that the Cowboys will find a way to top yesterday's collapse before the end of this season.

It sure feels that way, but maybe that's just because we're concerned with Dallas and way more of our games are national.
