Dallas Cowboys cut down to 53 players

IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys have made their final roster cuts, but that doesn't mean the 53-man roster is finalized.

According to sources, the Cowboys cut the following players: Alex Tanney, Anthony Armstrong, Edawn Coughman, Jakar Hamilton, Taylor Reed, Demetress Bell, Kendial Lawrence, Xavier Brewer, Jerome Long, Jabari Fletcher, Caleb McSurdy, Cameron Lawrence, Thaddeus Gibson, Ray Dominguez, Danny Coale, Jason Vega, Tim Benford, Micah Pellerin, Sterling Moore, Brandon Magee and Kevin Kowalski.

Safety Matt Johnson is heading to season-ending injured reserve.

The Cowboys will be actively looking at the waiver wire for upgrades. Tanney, Pellerin, Magee, Benford, Coale and Vega could be practice squad candidates if they clear waivers.

The Cowboys guaranteed Magee $70,000 and gave Hamilton $10,000 to sign as undrafted free agents and hope to bring them back to the practice squad. Magee missed the final two preseason games with a concussion.

McSurdy? Inconceivable.

I don't get the Moore cut. Honestly, I would have rolled with Moore and some other FA scrub instead of drafting Webb.

So, corners on the roster are Claiborne, Carr, Scandrick, Webb and .....is that it?
 
Shit...I like Moore. He has a little nasty to him that the team lacks. No doubt he gets picked up.

5 fucking TEs is ridiculous...although I bet Smith gets cut when we make a roster move.

Moore makes plays. Just that simple. But hey, this braintrust knows more about football, right?

Thing about Smith and Rosario is that we are not the only team looking for a TE. Same goes for OL help.

I like the Furstenburg kid from Maryland. Can't see how Smith is a lot better.
 
Darrion Weems made this team. They better be scoping out some tackles on the waiver wire.

He'd be a classically decent 4th TE.
 
Archer says we're looking for our 5th CB on the waiver wire.

And umm, did I miss an earlier round of cuts cause I don't see Toby Jackson on that list.

We need a5th TE to make up for how shitty our 2nd round TE Is, whom we cant cut this soon. That's just sad.
 
Sterling Moore was solid and it's Retarded to cut him only to look for a replacement on waivers, when chAnces are that no one on waivers is any better.
 
Looking at this depth chart it seems Jerry is banking on the miracle injury free season.
