ESPN.com shutting down message forums

Anyone remember the ESPN political forum? It was in some kind of sports forum no one ever used for that purpose.

It was totally dominated by liberals and one guy in particular who I can't remember his name.

When it got busy in there with a lot of high and mighty's arguing politics, here would come Bipolarfan or Bipolarfan2,3, or PartDeux to lead the troll charge to turn it into a professional wrestling forum.

:lol Good times.

Sure do. It was really the Monday Night Football forum but it morphed into ESPN's unofficial Political Forum.

Something about snowboards, his username was about.

Yeah, I remember him talking about how his name came from a brand of ski boots and that he loved skiing in Utah.

He crushed a lot of dreams when he revealed that. There were a number of message board romeos who thought they had a chance with him/her. :lol

I wasn't at the ESPN boards long. I am fairly new to the msg board thing. I didn't even really knew they existed until around 2003 when Rev pointed me at the ESPN boards and then to here.

I would've been a lot more productive in life had they made the decision to close down the boards about 13 years ago.

Don't even know how I found them, but I was a posting whore once I did.

I joined back during the summer of 2000. I just stumbled upon them while I was goofing off at work.

Two more names from way back in the day. Weave and DrDoomsdayD.

Master of Destiny.

And I think it was Weve. I argued with him incessantly that Emmitt was washed up.

I remember Weave. I spent a short while on the Cowboys board telling people how Ismail and Galloway were going to spread defenses thin and Emmitt Smith, coming off some hyped up off season massage treatment called... rolfing (I think) was going to run wild in all that open space.

Then one night I got bored on the Cowboys side and went to the Redskins board. Was having an intelligent discussion with a Redskins fan named Insanity4Me, when Goldenster started trolling and I was addicted to never-ending internet arguments.

Some classics were him saying Sam Shade was every bit as good as Darren Woodson and of course us arguing over who was better: La'Roi Glover or Sam Adams. And that stemmed from us signing Glover and Goldenster saying he didn't care because Adams was still available and he was the better player.

So... "Worldcrossing" anyone or is that Mazevo? Or is Mazevo the one before the big divide?

While you were arguing that Troy Hambrick was going to be a 1500 yard RB. :art

A couple other names I remember from back then was burmafrd and canada183 (or something like that).

Mazevo or TC.net was what eventually became Cowboys Zone. I have no idea what "Worldcrossing" is.

burmafrd is still around...both the Zone and The Ranch. A moron, IMO.

I remember him irritating me. Who the hell was that one guy...TexRich I think. He was on the espn board and then around for a little while in the earlier DCC days. He is one of the few people on a message board that I might have agreed to fight (& unlike Hostile I can count the number of fistfights I've been in on both hands), sight unseen. There have been plenty of people I don't care for, but that guy got under my skin a lot more than most.

I forgot about TexRich. TexRich pissed a lot of people off. He was one that was banned here.

Didn't he get banned at the board that he helped create? Dallas Cowboys Fan United....or some nonsense.

No idea what happened to that guy. I don't even remember now why he used to piss me off so much, just that he did.

TexRich hung around DCC I for a couple of months until he got the boot.

What happened to Hutch?

Was he from the ESPN boards too?
