That was kinda my point. If Irvin decided to do some stupid commercial and wear Eagles crap, I would be mildly annoyed at first. Then forget about it.

My cousin is a die hard bears fan. He fuck near had a coronary when he saw Ditka wearing Packers stuff in that commercial. He's pretty much swore off Ditka, and will get instantly pissed whenever the topic is brought up.

I enjoy texting him pics like this every other day or so.

Yeah, but they revere Ditka because of the mythos.

The SNL stuff, DIT-KA, the one SB, the only Super Bowl they have to cherish.

Ahh, that's different. He wasn't a Bears icon when he was a player. He was propped up to demigod status because of him coaching their 85 season.

I doubt showing him a picture of Ditka during his playing days would have quite the same effect.
