I sleep well. You hatred of people with wealth is puzzling though. Money is what makes better situations for a lot of folks. A great deal of the hospitals of mercy treatments are funded by people who are wealthy. There are thousands of foundations whose sole purpose is to help less fortunate are funded by someone's wealth. Everyone who has been blessed with wealth are not evil beings.

A rich man can't enter the kingdom of heaven because you're not rich anymore when you're dead. IMO, it's another way of saying "you can't take it with you".

That is absolutely the wrong interpretation of that scripture. You won't find hardly anyone that will agree with you on that.

None of those are commands to be poor. How can a poor man give to charity? He can't. What can a poor man do for someone in need? Nothing. Feel sorry for him is about it.

I do after that greed is a pretty under preached upon topic. There are a bunch of greedy Christians. There are a bunch of fat ones too.

A poor man can sin this area of money as well. If you are constantly worried or obsessed with money all of the time that is a lack of faith and trust in God.

It is the love or pursuit of money that is a sin. Greed and money obsession.

As far as the scripture in Matthew I'd say read the entire passage to get a grasp of what Jesus was saying.

Jesus wasn't American. By the worlds standards you are extremely wealthy. If you are going to hold people to those standards then you'd have to give up some stuff yourself. Are you willing to live like someone in a Mexican village to even out the score a little? If you aren't willing to do that then what are you willing to do?

I'm not willing to do shit. I don't believe much of anything in that book of fairy tales.

Just pointing out that all these fake rich Christians pick and choose what parts of the Bible they want to follow.

I would particularly want to see the interview between the Walton siblings and God upon their death when they try to explain why each of them were worth 50+ billion while the majority of their workers lived in squalor while dependent on the government to feed them.

Of course it is. That is sort of the point.

In the case of the Matthew scripture the point wasn't that wealth should be outlawed.

The point in this case was that the young man had the wrong heart. He was willing to give up everything except his wealth. Jesus knew that was his one thing that he was holding onto and called him out.

You can have wealth without it becoming your God. It is near impossible to get a rich man to turn to Jesus though. People who have no need have no need for God. Lots of rich folks with cancer have been taken to their knees though.

The moral of the story is that Christianity requires one to be willing to surrender all of themselves.

Money is a very talked about and addressed in the bible. There are hundreds of money references though because that is generally the biggest downfall of man. Money can be your God even if you aren't wealthy though.
 
But don't you think, that if Christianity is actually real, that people like the Walton family, the douche that bought the drug and raised the price 7000%, and Wall St. bankers that make ridiculous risky decisions are going straight to hell? Do not collect your $200.

I think each one of them will have a hard time explaining their vast, ludicrous wealth while paying their employees $8 an hour, potentially killing sick people who can't afford the new price, and wrecking the economy.

I don't think the they should have went to college, should have worked another job, should have worked harder, JUST SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING is going to cut it with the big man.

It takes a special kind of stupid to think that an entire religion based on forgiveness of sin sends people to hell for one pet peeve sin that pushes his buttons.
