Cowboys Acquire WR Brice Butler

ODB Part II? :unsure

Archer saying it's a conditional pick, but not clear on what round. Surely it's just a 7th..... surely.

Well we don't have a sixth or seventh next year. So I'm not sure how that works unless we can use a 2017 pick.

Limited playing time in Oakland, yet starting for Dallas? Seriously?

The guy is intriguing but he's not starting over Williams or Beasley. If he isn't better than Rod Streater, Andre Holmes or Seth Roberts, he ain't starting for Dallas.

He said 2016 pick.... no damn way we gave up a 5th or higher, right?

Guys?

Please god don't let it be a 5th or higher.

Gord. Berlinghoff.

Strong, woody name.

Goooorrrd.

He has averaged 12.7 yards a catch, so at least he's not pathetic.

:unsure

Ugh, he better produce. Or not play 6 games. Either or.

I'd say if he doesn't play much by game 5 you cut him with Dez coming back. Just my opinion.

That's pretty cheap though. You figure Oakland has a high sixth. We have a low fifth. You're really just moving down probably 10-15 spots late in the draft.

I'll trust our pro scouting department, they have had a lot more hits than misses lately. If nothing else, Butler is a burner and I'd rather have his athleticism and speed out there than Street, who brings basically nothing to the table.

I don't think he'd be starting over Beasley. He'd be starting over Street. I'll bet Beasley remains in his slot role with the bigger Butler starting outside.

Besides, whoever 'starts' doesn't mean anything. Hell, the team could start each game with two TEs on the field, or three wide. Does it really matter who is designated 'starter'? I'm sure they'll all see plenty of snaps.

I don't have complete faith, we have had some misses too (Mills being most recent).

But I have no question McClay is world's better than Judd Garrett was in that same capacity, in terms of pro personnel.

Pretty much. This isn't anything to get upset over.

You know what I mean. When someone says "starter" in regards to the WR role, they are talking about then being the flanker or the split end. Unless something is wrong, this kid doesn't step in and be that. Could he be better than Street? Could very well be.

Don't have a big issue with the trade. This was better than relying on the workout schlubs. In a way, this has a chance to be a good trade.

I just think it is premature and silly to start considering a fourth or fifth string WR in Oakland as capable of starting in Dallas right now.
