Thats where the game was lost. At the end. It should not have happened but for the change up there is no overtime.

Probably lose draft picks. Considering the history with spygate the NFL should make them some serious draft picks but they probably won't. The league has a way of protecting the ones they love.
 
The fact is, two TD leads just aren't safe in the NFL anymore.

Which makes it tough for a coach up 19-7. Your defense allowed one score all day and yet you can't really play the game counting on being able to get two stops in the last 6 minutes of a game with enough regularity to feel safe. Up 19-7 in the fourth has to be "we need more points to win this game," territory.

Which puts the history of the league on its head, but that's what league management wants. Defenses sometimes can't stop offenses anymore.

Not necessarily points, but first downs. I wouldn't advocate offenses going into a no-huddle situation screaming 'we need points'.

So it's no different than the early 90s Cowboys. Pass for the 1st half lead. Moose and Emmitt in the 2nd half.

Especially when they go prevent and allow wiggle room. There are too many instances of giving up yardage in the prevent schemes. Teams that couldnt get a first down suddenly begin to click when the clock starts get on the burn status. First downs are suddenly obtained on every play and TDs are scored in seconds. Why do you think that is? That's a rhetorical question.

Although the game remains the same about clock-killing, not necessarily points, you are correct in that 2-score leads aren't as sacred as before.

With the speed at which offenses are moving the ball now, the window for comebacks has opened - almost college-like.

In your grandfather's NFL, 10 point lead with 6 minutes would be Gatorade-dunking-coach time. Today, your offense with the 10 point lead gets the ball with 6 minutes and they have to get 3 first downs, expire the opponents timeouts to kill clock to 3:00 before punting.

Am I wrong for thinking that the Packers act like petulant children at times? Some of the post-game comments against Seattle and a few years ago after losing to either NYG or SF in the playoffs. A bunch of people drove to the fucking airport to cheer you after you BLEW IT with the Super Bowl on the line and most of you can't even acknowledge them? Nelson walking by with his hood up, really?
 
What's up with the ball deflating thing? I didn't get to see any of that game.

The Seahawks pretty much shut down the Packers passing game which is better than the one they have in New England, so don't expect New England to light up the scoreboard. Their defense is much better than the ones they've had in recent seasons so I expect Seattle to have trouble getting into the endzone as well, but this is going to be a close game and I think the Seahawks have an excellent chance to win.

I never said the Patriots were "so impressive."

But the Seahawks are pretty vulnerable and I have no respect for their offense.

The Patriots are nowhere near world beaters but they are smart and can beat you a variety of ways.

I wouldn't normally think they'd put up as many as 30 on Seattle but Super Bowls have a tendency to roll downhill sometimes. And truthfully 30 isn't even that much nowadays.

And everything you say to diminish what the patriots have done, is twice as true for Seattle. SF was mediocre this season, the Rams were a below .500 team, and Seattle beat a shell of an AZ that didn't have a QB left to win the division. Then Seattle beat a shitty Carolina team that didn't even deserve to be in the playoffs. And then Seattle was handed the conference by GB.

Brady gets flustered with pressure up the middle and that's what Seattle specializes at.

They also have the secondary to cover those average receivers New England has and I'm sure they're gonna shut down that running game as well.

New England is going to struggle and that's going to keep things close and allow Seattle to remain in it. If it's close, Seattle has an excellent chance to win.

That's why I hate both the Packers and Pats so much because they're such smug assholes who act like sore losers when things don't go their way.

They may be able to cover the WRs, but Gronk is always a matchup problem. The pash rush will be a concern, so we'll see I guess.

But the other side of the ball should be a big mismatch in the patriots favor.

Seattle will get their stops and I think it'll be somewhat close til the middle of the 3rd, then the wheels fall off.

We'll see i guess.
