Man, got some horrible news today.

My uncle who I'm extremely close to had a bad accident today at work and he lost his arm as a result. He's one of the top guys over the electricians at a refinery out here and something obviously went really wrong.

Given his position and his years of experience, I'm thinking the fault was someone else's, but then again no one is perfect. The current went all the way through his arm and came out of his back and basically blew a hole through his shoulder blade.

They said it's a miracle he's alive so as a person of faith, I'm trying to have perspective and be thankful that he didn't die, especially with Thanksgiving and Xmas right around the corner, but man......this hurts.

Sorry for the depressing story guys, but I had to vent somewhere.

There's not much I can say that will be of comfort to this circunstance except rely on your faith. Sorry this happened. There is just that sometime.

That's tough, brother. Keep your chin up. You're right, be very thankful he is still alive. As bad as it may seem, it could be a crap ton worse.

The good news is that my cousin says he's in really good spirits and has a positive outlook on this. He's just happy to be alive even if he lost his arm, and he's grateful just to still be here. I can't tell you how relieved I am to know that he's viewing this as positively as he is because you obviously worry about someone's mental and emotional state after something like this. So if he can be positive, then we as family need to be as well.

Unfortunately, he's going back into surgery soon in an attempt to save the top half of his arm. They already amputated it at the elbow, so I'm hoping they don't have to do more than that.

Yep, gotta stay positive for him. Depression would only make his situation worse.

That sucks dude. Like everyone is saying though, very glad he made it out alive. Electricity don't F around. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
 
Using the powdered peanut butter...just add a bit of water, only 45 calories for two tablespoons...surprising good.
