Record projections for all 32 NFL teams in 2014

Yeah, I don't see any way we go 3-13. But, I can see us going 5-11 or so if Romo goes out.

All of us agree Romo needs to stay upright and that is what my prediction is hinging on. If he goes down we all know it's bottom feeder time.

Even if he stays healthy I can see us going 6-10. Maybe even 5-11 depending on how our defense pans out.

One coach of consequence. Who else besides Linehan is supposed to make this coaching staff so much better?

Why does there need to be any more for the offense. The defensive side of the coaching staff is under realignment.

One coaching change on the defense, with his former boss kept on as his adviser. I wouldn't call that a realignment.

I would. Maranelli has full control to structure things the way he wants. That wasn't in place last season.

A healthy Romo doesn't guarantee squat. Again I'll point to the 1-5 record the Cowboys had in 2010 in games that Romo started. If the roster is bad he's not good enough to make up for the short comings. Especially with his bad back.

He'll help some but until we get a coach in here who can do a better job coaching around the team's short comings I believe we're staring at a 3 to 6 win season.

We seemingly have an OL in place that will allow us to slow the pace of games and play keep away from the other teams. Which in turn means less time on the field for our shaky defense. But does any one truly believe Garrett will coach in that manner?

I don't. I'm expecting to see more of what we witnessed in that Packers game. Entirely too much passing in unnecessary situations.

Garrett is the key to this season's success, not Romo. At least that's how I see it.

Time will tell.

There hasn't been a down played yet.

There has been plenty of snaps for Romo to know what he is. He is going to make some plays when it doesn't count and not make some when it counts. Always enough to make it exciting but the end result is always the same.

History is history and it can be an indicator of the future but they still play the games on the field so I guess I will just wait and see. By the way, Romo is plenty good enough to get the team where they need to be. To me the coaching game strategies need to make the major adjustment. With the additions to both lines the team is better off and may be good enough to get them to 10 games. :art

Marinelli had a lot of input last season, and is a direct disciple of the man he replaced. I wouldn't expect much to change from the coaching.

Why does there need to be any more for the offense. The defensive side of the coaching staff is under realignment.

Because the offense has been under the control of a man who doesn't know how to run a game properly for 8 years now, and despite any final rankings they may have achieved, the way the offense has been run has been responsible for several losses per season. And that is on the coaching staff.

and bringing in an OC who has historically been even more pass happy than Garrett does not bode well for the running game(and by extension the defense if we still fail to play ball control)

The offensive supporting cast was bad in 2010.

That offensive line was truly offensive and Marion Barber was done, though they still paid him like a top-5 RB. Net result was no running game and frighteningly less time to throw, especially early on with Marc Colombo out of the lineup. With the line in shambles, the draw play that worked so well between the 20's in 2009 was non-existent in 2010.

The biggest problem was Jason Garrett's abject refusal to stop passing while Wade was coaching. The minute Wade was out, RHG started running the football and suddenly the team was almost competitive again to finish 5-3.

So it wasn't really Romo, it was RHG going pass-happy because he had Romo-- basically forgetting that football is a team sport.

It's bad when you're responding to your own posts. :)
