Yeah, I replied to Mendez on Twitter with if it hadn't happened now, it would have just happened when the pads were on.

Honestly though, he is not irreplaceable...let Holloman and Hitchens battle it out.

And deal with the suck results.

I do have some hope for Holloman, but zero for Hitchens.

As much as we gripe about Lee being hurt, that guy has had incredible production when he has played. You can't just say that is replaceable because when he was out there and on, he was a special MLB.

All in all, it is not just a plug and play position. The system needs a strong MLB capable of playing deep middle zones as much as it does supporting the run.
 
Lee's knack for INTs from the MLB position is pretty irreplaceable unless we would trade for another whitey like Kiko or Kuechly.

There will be a dip in production, but if we are better up front that takes some pressure off the young MLBs. I just mark Lee down for only 9 games a year, now it is easier to just know he won't be there.

Not arguing with that at all. In a way, and I rarely do this, it is a blessing. It was coming. Better to get it done now, when there is still reasonable time to try to do something about it.
