The Freshman QB for OH, Baker Mayfield looks like the best of the QB candidates today. He has been quick in the pocket and accurate. Knight has looked ragged.

He's actually a sophomore. And he's not eligible until to play until 2015. Unless you're talking about another Baker Mayfield.

I didn't hear anything about his eligibility and the announcers identified him a a freshman but could have gotten that wrong. He looked pretty good today.

Yeah, he was a walk-on freshan at Tech last year and transferred to OU after the season was over. Because he lost his appeal, and since he transferred within the Big 12, he can't play this year.

I will look forward to seeing him. I can't imagine why Tech let him get away.

He's probably using a redshirt this year since he's sitting out so he's technically still a freshman.

I didn't think he could do that. Not after being on a year of non-eligibility plus already playing a year. Regardless he would still be classified a sophomore wouldn't he?

He will have to sit out a year and then he loses an additional year of eligibility for transferring within the conference per conference rules.

He pitch a big hissy fit and left because he wasn't named the starter for the bowl game. The kid is a real brat.

Pretty much. He most likely wouldn't have been named the starter at the beginning of the season had Webb not gotten hurt.

Was he the starter st one time at Tech? I seem to remember that Tech had an injured qb and the one who played most of the season was a back up. I may have that wrong.

You're correct. The projected started, Webb, got hurt prior to the start of the season.
 
I'm watching the Oklahoma spring game now. Honestly I don't know whether to be really impressed with the Sooners defense or to be worried about our offense.
