DCC Appreciation Thread...

I should have known I was posting with serial killers all these years.

I didn't know anyone didn't rush to open the door before that timer hit 0:00...

Almost put this in the tech thread but I will here.. My microwave died after just three years, and before I got another, Grok and the others were telling me how Panasonic and LG have a different, superior technology from pretty much everyone else so it's much more durable. So I got an LG.

But the best part has nothing to do with the cooking. It's that instead of that homicide-inducing beep, it makes this pleasant little chime that's not irritating at all.

Might be the best invention since indoor plumbing and air conditioning.

We have an LG that is Alexa connected. Yeah we are fancy like that. I dont use it through that but it helps my wife. Just easier for her to use it that way due to medical reasons.

It's only when I'm using a microwave that KEEPS FUCKING BEEPING even if you open the door just after it hits 0:00, like the one at work (Panasonic)

I hate that shit. The door's open, why are you still beeping at me? Whoever designed that was an asshole.

I don't ever use shit like that. I bought a LG dryer last year that has it's own app, I just can't see how it makes things easier.

I want to use appliances connected to Alexa but I don't know how.

I'm an agnostic on microwave endings and beeping. Doesn't bother me too much and so sometimes I end the microwave early and sometimes I don't.

I just use mine to shut off the room lights and Roku before bed so my lazy ass doesn’t have to get up.

It helps the disabled or those with medical conditions. I know it makes things for my wife easier if only not having to worry if she can push the button or struggle with the light switches.

I unplugged my Alexa when I found out it was logging everything I said

~looks at iPhone~
It does listen to everything said, and you might find various "coincidental" targeted ads all around the net soon after voicing aloud what you are looking for.

My LG shuts the fuck up as soon as I open the door.

So, this whole debate depends on the circumstances.
I am assuming the thing stops beeping when you open it. I try to time it to open it as soon as it hits zero to mitigate microwave sound pollution.

I use Alexa for the lights in the bedroom and that’s it. It will control like 3 of my TVs, the Ring and the thermostat but I never use it for any of those things.

A guy gets home late one night and his wife says, "Where the hell have you been?"

"I was out getting a tattoo.

"A tattoo? What kind of tattoo did you get?"

"I got a hundred dollar bill on my penis."

"What the hell were you thinking? Why did you get a hundred dollar bill on your penis?"

"Well, number one, I like to watch my money grow. Number two, once in a while, I like to play with my money. And lastly, instead of you going out shopping, you can stay home and blow a hundred bucks."
