War in Iran?

How does that scumbag keep winning elections in South Carolina? Is it that there are a bunch of defense contractors there? I don't get it. No one seems to like him.

SC needs an Elon just for their state. Isn't Milti from SC?:unsure

Definitely not true. I've been around plenty of servicemembers who joined for patriotism....even before 9/11. But there are also a good number who join for the steady pay, benefits, and career training/skills development.

I joined right out of high school. I didn't have the grades for a scholarship or the desire to attend college at the time. My dad is an Air Force and Army vet so he steered me towards military service. In my mind I was only going to do it for 4 years just to kickstart my transition into adulthood, but I ended up enjoying it and stayed for 23.

I have no way of verifying this but just based on my personal experience it does feel like a majority of people join mainly for the benefits and steady pay. But it's nowhere near 99% like that guy is saying.

I'm sure it's nothing and I probably shouldn't even ask, but I've lived in an Air Force town almost my entire life, am totally used to hearing training jets fly over all the time, and I just heard something I don't think I've ever heard before. Louder and lasted much longer than usual, different pitch to it, everything. Nothing weird is going on is it? :unsure

Oddly enough we get a ton of action here in Missouri. The original Iran Strikes flew out of Missouri. The best is when you just hear a giant boom like someone is slamming a door that shakes your entire house/office building. But nope, just a plane I'm assuming with a sonic boom.

Hell happened just last week. Thought someone ran into my office. Eventually went on Facebook and saw all the locals talking about it.

We've got B1s flying over all the time here. About to have B21s soon.

I lived pretty close to Dyess growing up and hated the B1 flyovers.

Yeah, it's worse if you live on the west side of town. I'm over off of Buffalo Gap Rd, so it's not that bad.

I lived right off of s 14th and close to the albertsons/Hastings shopping center (not sure if those are still there).

There's a Crunch Gym where Albertson's was. I miss Hasting's.

I looked it up on google maps and you grew up 8 blocks from where my granddad and grandmother lived for 40 years. They lived at S 12th and Marshall. I would have driven a 30 foot Penske very close to your old house when we moved her from Abilene to Lubbock about 25 years ago. Crazy small world.

Are you serious? Dude, I used to live in a duplex at the corner of S. 12th and Marshall when I was about 20. Did they live on the Southwest corner? If so, I talked to them on several occasions. Very nice people.

Yes. First house on the south side of S 12th when you turn west off of Marshall. Their names were Virgil and Gladys Cotton. Virgil would have been gone by then. He died in 1981.

Here is where their old house is. The one right on the corner technically faces Marshall. But, you would have probably talked to the couple that lived right next door to them, @Cujo.

Yep, it's not who I was thinking of. I lived at 1201. 1202 were the people I was thinking of. We had parties all the time and they were always super cool. Me and my roommate would be out there at 3 am picking up all the empty beer cans and bottles so as to not leave a mess. Lol
