2025 College Football Chatter

They deserve to be in there over Alabama, but serves them right for bring uppity bitches who are adamant about staying independent.
They need to dump the “committee” and find another way to pick the teams.
With the bloated conferences now, the sparkle of winning the conference title is watered down. Shouldn’t even matter…it should simply be the best 12 teams in the country. Take Alabama for instance. They beat Georgia, then lost to Georgia in the CCG but were down there top 2 RBs and 8 other starters. I would argue they are still better than Miami, James Madison and Tulane.

A final AP type ranking system will bring some handwringing too with tiebreakers and SOS shit.

I’m not even sure I agree with the rankings this season past Illinois and Ohio State. There are teams you watch and think…NFW these guys are ranked #xyz. They just don’t pass the eye test.

Yeah, I've been saying for years now that they need to standardize college football across the board, especially now that we have a 12 team playoffs along these mega conferences.

Either EVERYBODY plays a conference championship or NO ONE plays them.

Every team should be made to play the exact same amount of regular season games before the 12 participants are determined.

Everyone should play the same amount of conference games and out of conference games.

The rules and guidelines for getting in should be clear.

Come up with a system that makes it absolutely clear on what you have to do to get in and have it apply evenly and fairly across the board.

Maybe a points system where you get X amount of points per win? X amount of points for beating a top 10 team, a top 25 team, an unranked team, etc.

The NCAA has been making a mess of college football for as long as I can remember and they seem to be no better at governing things than they were 30 years ago.

I think the conference championships are muddying things up a little. Do we still need them when there are teams benefiting from not having to play them?

Someone being interviewed on McAfee says you shouldn’t expect anything worthwhile from NCAA. No talent there. Just bureaucrats who got there by knowing someone.

Ridiculous that those two teams are in the playoffs.

The idea is to get the best 12, and those two aren't even in the best 20.
I'm glad there are some in the media with big platforms who are saying this out loud.

If those two were in the Big 10 or SEC they would be lucky to finish .500, they're basically giving playoff spots to a team as good as like Maryland or Auburn because they don't want to get flamed for locking out mid majors.

I think this is another reason to do away with conference championships. Not every conference has a team worthy of being in the playoffs, clearly. They need a different way of picking the best 12 teams that does not require weak conferences to be represented
