I think George Costanza set a bad example as far as unemployment. Now somebody can get you an influencer in a heartbeat.

It is a part of American culture that people used to not talk about.

I remember shame when my mother paid with food stamps. But back then, it was obvious.

Now they just swipe. Nobody knows you are quite likely a leech on society.

And they celebrate that.

Bring back the different color bills you had to tear out of a booklet and the judgy middle aged lady at the till looking down her nose with scorn. This country needs more shame.

Unfortunately economists are just as politically biased and bought off as scientists and others. Economics should be simple, it all comes down to math and formulas. I loved economics in college. But the truth is I don't trust the so called expert economists anymore. Numbers are easy to manipulate and present in a way to manipulate. It's really unfortunate because math in itself has no real bias.

Why is it all these food stamp people are getting the boxes of individual chips? Like you're so busy you need to pay a premium to have the chips in individual little variety bags. Half of which probably get thrown away because they always include something no one wants for a flavor in the box. Like hey here is a great option, let's throw some hard pretzels in there or Fritos because we need to get rid of them.

Also can you really use foodstamps to buy a bag of ice? Like really, you have a freezer right there. Too hard up to freeze your own damn water?

Videos like this remind me that the really poor people have no idea what suffering actually is.

Maybe you missed it, but she done give a fuck what you or I or anyone else think.

I just wish we could somehow make the ebts only work on healthy food. I'd love to see the outrage that this can't be used on Doritos and Fruity Pebbles anymore.

For those bitching about cuts, everything I have seen from the videos tells me people who get foodstamps are getting too much. Foodstamps should be more like the WIC program. You can get Milk, but only certain brands and certain types. You can get cheese, but not shredded or sliced. Very specific items. Food stamps are kind of a joke but I think they have been for a long time. It's been a system that's been used and abused many times over. And honestly were probably the result of some lobbiest in the food industry trying to increase sales.

Nothing more frustrating than waiting in line to pay for your little bit of groceries while watching a food stamper get a fucking buggy full. 6 packs of sodas and 12 packs of gatorades hanging all around the edge of the buggy, huge packs of meat stacked, boxes of processed food...make you wanna rob a bitch.

I get the outrage seeing the government pay for a cart full of food while you have to pay yourself. You are close to it. You can see it most times you go to the grocery.

What I rarely see is people bitch about corporate welfare. Billion dollar entities with their fucking hand out to the government as well. A lot of working poor rely on stamps. I mean, how the fuck is say, a couple working at WalMart and Taco Bell supposed to live?

Meanwhile the oil, farm, tech, and the whatever the hell else industry is soaking up our tax dollars while everyone smiles and nods.
 
I'm pissed with all of it.
