No Jerry penciled him in on the fourth round pick. He mentioned this. But he did also mention his top of the second talent and 4.3 speed. Both of which I call bullshit on.

Funny how he actually ran a 4.46, struggled with separation and didn't play to that speed. He also called him their second highest rated receiver in that draft. One that has produced far superior WRs. So he either isn't actually looking at the scouting report or our fucking scouts suck at evaluating receivers. Wilson, Olave, Williams and London have all become damn good receivers ahead of him from that draft.

They will need to add a high end WR a la Amari Cooper if they want any chance to have a real dynamic offense. They didn’t get enough at RB to make me feel like they can lean on that position.

The lack of the WR is why I give it a B-.

WR was too big of a need to completely ignore. It was pretty much a repeat of the 2024 draft, in terms of completely ignoring a critical need.

I actually like the skill set of the RBs they picked.

It's the type of trade you would have expected this weekend. Or during camp. But mid-season in a lost season? For a player that has literally done nothing since entering the NFL? Like Tolbert looks like an A+ pick compared to this kid.

And when I say during camp or the draft, I mean one of those hey, we will swap a sixth round pick for your seventh and Mingo type of trades. Not a fucking fourth.

You trade a fourth for a veteran receiver mid-season? That's usually for a Vet with some probowls on his resume who wants a chance at a Superbowl. Not this garbage.

And I know "it's just a fourth round pick" but go back to Saturday and tell me it wouldn't have been nice to have that pick? It could have been Royals for example. How awesome would that be right now? But nope, we have Mingo in the last year of his contract.

Hopefully this team wakes the fuck uo after this season when Mingo is out of contract, Tolbert is out of contract. And you're basically down to Lamb, Brooks and Flournoy on the roster. I guess you can count Turpin but he is just a return specialist to me.

And I like what we did at RB. With Blue and Mafah. You sort of have a foundation that you can build around long term. Feels like it's been awhile that we actually had young depth at the position. Jevonte is a one year guy. Sanders is a one year guy. So next offseason Blue and Mafah will be going into their second years and their roles can grow. And then you can just add a third piece with no real pressure.

Cowboys finally addressed running back but got a mixed bag Saturday as Texas’ Jaydon Blue (5th round) was not nearly as productive as Clemson’s Phil Mafah (7th round) last season. Let Oxnard decide which one competes with Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Overall, the Cowboys used their first four picks to address Zack Martin’s retirement, D-Law’s escape to Seattle, Trevon Diggs’ injury and Jourdan Lewis’ departure and the loss of Rico Dowdle. So full marks for that effort, although time will tell whether these players fill the void. But there were no extreme reaches at any point.

Grade: B-minus

David Moore
The wish list of most people would have had the Cowboys address deficiencies at running back, defensive tackle and the second wide receiver spot with premium picks. But a draft is about reality. Dallas was disciplined throughout, got outstanding value down the line and was able to throw numbers at some problematic positions in Day 3. It appears this draft went a long way in getting Dallas back to where it wants to be.

Grade: A-minus

Kevin Sherrington
After reaching for Tyler Booker in the first, the Cowboys got quality defenders below market value in the second and third. Both Donovan Ezeiruaku and Shavon Revel, Jr., may ultimately become starters. Had the Cowboys taken a wide receiver and running back in the first three rounds, they’d definitely start this fall. Whiffing on a WR keeps this class from getting an A.

Grade: B

Calvin Watkins
After a promising start to the draft, the Cowboys didn’t finish it. You would like to see an offensive playmaker on the roster at running back or wide receiver and we don’t see one. Dallas didn’t pick a wideout this weekend, instead focusing on what’s currently on the roster. The loss of a fourth-round pick, where several running backs went off the board, pushed the Cowboys to draft a pair of running backs with different styles. We do like the effort of two late-round defensive tackles in Jay Toia and Tommy Akingbesote.

Grade: C

Analysis: Dallas found a different way to help Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb without adding to a thin group of skill players early in the draft. The Cowboys opted to do what they do best—drafting an offensive lineman in the first round. Booker is set to replace the retired Zack Martin, one of the best draft picks ever for the Jones family. Dallas could again have one of the best offensive lines in the league, with Booker joining fellow first-round selections Tyler Guyton (2024) and Tyler Smith (’22). The Cowboys have also had success drafting cornerbacks, perhaps a good sign for Revel, a first-round talent with injury concerns. —GM

Javonte is more talented than anyone we just drafted at RB. If he’s a one year guy it’s cause we don’t want to pay him.

Or it's because like most NFL RBs, they burnout quickly. If he looks like the RB from his rookie year I agree. Although Blue is more elusive and a better pass catcher and Mafah has more power. Thus how the committee approach works.

Jevonte was the more complete all in one guy when he was drafted. But he is here on only a one year deal. And if he has a good year like you think he will bolt for a team willing to pay him.

If Guyton can just become an above average starter we're going to be nearing "Great Wall" territory on the OL.

Smith is already a Pro Bowler, I'm certain Beebe will make one or two, and I'm confident that Booker will as well. We should have one of the best, if not the best interior OL's in the league for the next 6-8 years.

My big concern is Guyton, he showed some promise but at times he looked like he could be a flakey washout. I'm still optimistic, but we just need him to end up decent and then we can figure something out at RT long-term, maybe Don Cornelius for all we know given his starting experience.

My biggest concern with Guyton is he didn't seem to show improvement over the course of the season, he regressed.
