McCarthy Gone - Now the search is on - Schottenheimer Hired

Marc Columbo name floating around??

I don't see it being reported at all. Just fan speculation from what I can tell.

Also, I'm not a fan of that move. He doesn't seem to have been in coaching since 2020.

Schottenheimer has been overlooked so often he just stopped being considered for HC. He’s never finished a season as a hot contender and has always been fired and then picked up on someone else’s staff.

It’s weird, like why Spags isn’t getting interviews (or why we didn’t interview him).

Not saying Schottenheimer is anything special, but it’s clear there are blind spots.

He could end up working out because random shit happens, but just because the organization gets lucky doesn't mean that the way they operate is justified.

The only candidate I wanted to interview was Spags. No popular candidates or anyone else impressed me one bit.

Schottenheimer’s as qualified as any of them. I mean take Ben Johnson away from Sewell, Gibbs, Montgomery, St John, and company and what’s left? He’s no billionaire, philanthropist, genius playboy.

I mean that's a little unfair. He was 10th, 15th, 10th and 9th in points allowed. So more top ten then you make it sound. And those defenses weren't as talented as the ones Quinn had. They also did something Quinn couldn't. They stopped the run.

I’d venture to say their DL and LBs were probably better than what we will have across the board in 2025.

Does anyone really believe Jerry and the Tardo Twins are going out and getting a couple A list DT’s to plug in? Dynamic DE’s? LBs?
Nah….you’ll get an over the hill Lawrence, an off injury Williams, a slightly improved Mazi and while you’re at it you’ll get an exploded knees Overshown at LB to go with it. After the Mazi debacle you can’t depend on the draft to make a huge difference.

That’s the problem. Jerry thinks you can throw shit out on the field and “coach’em up” without regard for injuries or talent. And it shows.

Hey maybe Eberflus will surprise me and knock it out of the park. I’m not holding my breath though after watching the last few days of the Jones shitshow.

I would like to hear BS's reasoning on Eberflus. I mean, we know the Jones Tards made the hire because he's been in the building before, but I wonder how convincing BS would be, or if he just says he wanted a good DC.

At least Mike was adamant that he didn't want a "one call" defense like Marinelli ran. He had a strong philosophy on that.

He does not need reasoning. He is the Head Coach of the Dallas Cahboys, he does as we say. ~lip smack~

Oh yeah, I’m loving how the new coach is BS
