If we're being honest nobody really gives a fuck about just making an NFCC. It's a good marker for the futility of this particular franchise but I don't think Minnesota or Chicago fans are sitting there thinking "man, thank God we made that random NFCC 10-15 years ago".

Maybe making the SB is a different sort of accomplishment (although Cowboys fans are kidding themselves if they think making a SB and then going on to not win one for another 20+ more years will satisfy them) but I doubt just making a NFCC means much to fans once you get 2-3 years removed.

Shit, I give a fuck about it.

Like I said, it's a marker of futility, but what I'm saying is I don't think anybody would be satisfied for more than 2-3ish years after making one.

It'd just put an end to that particular piece of futility, although I'm sure it'd quickly be followed by "haven't made/won a SB in X years".

Micah doesn't understand how much of a problem Jerry really is, and Dez doesn't understand that crazy ranting and screaming isn't the way to "change culture."

No, you're exactly right -- I've always thought this. Those milestones matter for about one week until the next game. If you lose then, it doesn't really matter.

Remember two years ago when we won the first road playoff game since 1993 or whatever it was? It was fun for one week, then nobody cared.

Like you said, do Panthers fans feel any better about today because they made a Super Bowl 8 or 9 years ago? Of course not, that really means nothing now.

True, but most teams would turn the operations over to a new management structure after a certain stretch of futility.

I will give Dez credit for this -- he was never a company man and has always been critical if Garrett and Jerry.

The problem is, he's not respected enough in NFL circles and media for it to matter.

Now if Romo, Witten, or Ware made openly critical statements about Jerry and how it's how he operates that prevents the Cowboys from winning?

It would be much bigger news. Sadly, all 3 of those guys were happy just being buds with him and his family.

I'm not excusing Jerry or saying it's not a big deal to have that long of a stretch, I'm just saying it's ridiculous to pretend like simply making a NFCC would be enough to right the wrongs of the last 30 years.

It'd tide people over for 2-3 years but unless we were consistently getting back to that point it'd just be a footnote.

Making a SB might be enough but I'm not even sure of that, I don't think hardcore fans like us will be satisfied until they win another one.

We do have Aikman, who is about as high-profile as it gets, pretty openly trashing Jerry and the way he does things lately, and even that doesn't matter. It just makes Jerry dig in further. Maybe an extra long look at that man in the mirror.
