So about this PS DT Jalen Dalton guy they signed.

Four NFL teams since 2019 (Bears, Saints, Falcons, Panthers).

Was injured 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 seasons.

Signed to UFL after failed physical with Panthers prior to 2023 offseason

He went to UNC so @Smitty should remember him. But since he has never screamed for his acquisition, he must suck as bad as he looks on paper.
Why am I not surprised that this is the quality of player this organization decides to take a chance on? There are probably players sitting at home on their couch right now who have better resumes than this guy.

Yeah, I have to see a lot more to start blaming CeeDee. Not that he's perfect, but he's our best player and basically our entire offense.

And frankly, I don't blame him for getting frustrated for Dak. In a perfect world he wouldn't, but it's understandable.

CeeDee's route running has never been an issue until this year.

I think he's more a symptom than a root cause, the root cause (besides Jerry and blatantly ignoring obvious personnel upgrades) is that the dysfunction is running deep because everybody came into the season knowing McCarthy was likely done after the year, whether they'll admit it or not.

Yep, I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry has them practicing as lightly as possible. As always, it seems the longer a coach's tenure goes, the more Jerry inserts himself. And that does include creating a lame duck coaching situation.

And we know, because he's as much as said, that Jerry's biggest fear is injury to star players. He's talked several times just this year about saving players or injured players being back for "when it really counts" as if the playoffs are a foregone conclusion.

I mean, this is a guy who landed his helicopter on the field during practice. Pretty obvious he doesn't think it's that important.

It's interesting because over the last few years we've been one of the best teams in the league in the regular season, but I don't think any amount of regular season success will quell this sort of sentiment which seems to only grow as the years go on. Regular season success stems it for a time, but it's always there waiting to pop back up.

I appreciate it, even if I don't think it'll result in anything more dramatic or transformative than a Belichick hire.

I'm not going to make excuses for him because I haven't liked his attitude lately but it must be pretty hard to maintain a competitive frame of mind when you have a lame duck coach and a front office, that even we have noticed, doesn't give a shit about winning.

He's got 40 fuckin million reasons per year to go out there and play like his hair is on fire. I expect Irvin level intensity, if not, fuck that cunt.
