I played for about 5 hours today. I haven't spent that much time playing a game in years.

You were right about receivers finally being able to catch the ball without breaking stride. Even after playing 5 games it still catches me off guard that my receiver doesn't come to a complete stop to catch the pass and I end up not getting as much YAC as I could. I guess 30 years of playing with Madden's receiving mechanics will do that that to you.

Also, playing on the road is tough as hell. My players were getting rattled and it was a struggle at times getting them to into the right audible. I've never played a game before where home field advantage had this much of an impact on players performances. I like that.

I feel like I used to be a badass. Just started playing tonight and at first it was like I forgot how to play. But eventually I hit my groove and it felt really good again. It's going to take a little time to get used to the mechanics but the game feels well done. Recruiting is revamped too which will take some getting used to.

Man, what a fun ass game this is.

There's so many real life sorts of plays that I've seen that just never used to be in these games and it makes playing against the computer so damn fun.

So another really cool thing about this game is that there are actual penalties. I even saw the CPU get flagged for illegal man downfield!

I've had almost a week with this game now and I've played countless games. I don't think it's far-fetched to say that this is the most realistic football game ever made.

The gameplay is just so fun and rewarding.

With that being said, nothing is without its flaws. Roughing the kicker happens way too often for both yourself and the CPU.

It's like Sam Williams got cloned and put onto ever single Special Teams in the game.

Because of the frequency, I have decided to turn that penalty off and leave on running into the kicker -- the latter being something I haven't seen called even once.

Anyway, before you guys tear out your hair in frustration, I advise you to turn off roughing the kicker.

I always go for the block but still, it's by far the most frequently called penalty even for the cpu.

It even happened when I played the safe FG block play that looks out for the fake.

I think the issue is that the ghe end rusher from the weak side is ALWAYS too aggressive.

BTW, the CPU just got flagged but offensive PI for trying to pull off a pick play!

I just download games these days

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the game was only about 28 GB and it only took 10 minutes to download.

I started the download Friday morning when I was getting ready for work, assuming that it would take several hours. By the time I finished brushing my teeth and getting dressed it was already finished.

I'm so used to things taking several hours to download on PS4 that I thought something went wrong and the game only partially downloaded.

Holy shit, this is goddamn good.
