I'd never even heard of this show except in mention of a recent Supreme Court appointment.

Read about 10 seconds of the plot on Wikipedia and yeah, no way is that not political. :lol Good grief.
What's funny, though, is they think they are taking shots at the R side, when all they are illustrating is what the left has done. They just couch it as "religion" making it supposedly a shot against the right. Guess what, their cultish bullshit is way closer to this plot.

Fair enough. But, everything they did to us during Covid is illustrated in some manner in that show. From lockdowns to mandates.
People loved to compare the Roe v Wade overturning to the show. Like that was the start to Republicans doing what is happening in the show. I take the political point they are trying to make as an indictment of old white Republicans trying to control reproductive rights.

I just remember back when Trump was elected the Dems kept saying Pence is so radical Handmaids will actually happen and that was enough to tell me it was too political for me to enjoy

This is disappointing. I watched a couple of episodes that were quite funny. But I never committed to the show and thought I could let it build up.

Not into shows at all but watched the first episode of Tulsa King. Anyone watching it? Characters are a little cartoonish but Stallone is funny. Thought it was pretty good.

Yes, it looks like it is going to be very good. It seems everything Sheridan touches turns to gold.
