I played the first one. I enjoyed season one. I did not play the second one. So I am kind of watching the second one not really knowing what happened in the game. I've been able to enjoy it for the most part. It's still better than 99% of television shows right now.
But the Ellie casting choice tho

So if I'm being honest the older she gets the more annoying she is. She plays the role probably too masculine. Again, I didn't play the second game, but from the first one she was at least feminine from what I can remember. And maybe in the second game that changed some. I'm not talking about her sexuality. But in watching season two she very much has taken on a male kind of role.

Never played the games but I understood that the second one brought about the LGBT storyline.

That's my understanding too and so I admitt maybe she was a manly LGBT. But in the first game she was just a girl. Gay or not she was still a girl.

I think she has played the role more as herself this season instead of as Ellie

I stopped watching early in this season. If true, that is a very arrogant manuever by an actor.

You have to earn the right to put your personal stamp ala yourself on a character.

She is not that accomplished. It also does not help that her character has to support the show the rest of the way.

You're an actor playing a role. If you try to change a character to match yourself you're just a bad actor.
To be fair Samuel L Jackson does this at times. Hitman’s bodyguard he was being himself half the time. Usually his best roles.

So its hard to compare to the game. But it felt a bit cheesy to me. The scenes in the boat looked ridiculous to me. The "cliff hanger" ending was just annoying.
Ok. I at least know that I wasn't crazy. I've never played ar seen the game so just watching without any idea of what is supposed to happen. Going to be hard to get me to tune in for another season after that mess.

Also not to nit pick at all but that entire episode there wasn't a single infected. My son likes to watch the episodes with me because he gets great joy out of watching zombies (It's what he thinks the infected are). The entire episode there wasn't a single one. Let's just say my disappointment was very minor compared to his.
