But my guess is going to Texas after striking a hundred million dollar contract has a lot to do with taxes.
That’s my issue with him making that move. If you legitimize and in some cases support liberal candidates who want higher taxes, you should eat the meal you’ve prepared.

Maybe you’re right, maybe he’s not as liberal as he suggests.

How do you guys feel about Joe Rogan, if you have an opinion at all.

He’s a liberal, which is cool. A lot of liberals are good hearted people. I lean liberal socially in most cases.

I’m trying to wrap my head around his recent move to Texas. Of course a ton of democrats and liberals live in Texas. I’m not saying they shouldn’t be allowed to live wherever they want.

I have a small issue with the thought process behind a guy like Joe Rogan moving to Texas.

In one breath he’ll defend liberal democrats, but in the next breath he’ll cry about the conditions liberal California is in and how he had to get out of there.

Is that not hypocritical? If you believe the same things as the people who govern like Gavin Newsom, wouldn’t you want to live by the laws and policies?
I love listening to Rogan and the wide variety of guests he has on his show. He seems pretty open minded and reasonable on the subjects I've heard discussed. I haven't listened to that many shows but I don't recall him defending any liberal democrats, in fact he's been pretty critical of Biden and caught hell from the yahoos claiming he is implicitly defending Trump.

I dont care if he moves to Texas as long as he doesnt forget why he left and not support idiot politicians who would like to go down the same road

Sounds like California has gone nuts with their taxation.

I used to play a LOT of poker (tried to go pro and failed 😥 ) and on a flight back from Vegas/WSOP, I was sitting next to a fellow poker player who lived in The Ritz-Carlton residences in Dallas who plays in a game with Gabe Kaplan who also lives there in one of the top floors (he might have said penthouse). Anyway, he said Gabe had to leave California because not only was his income being taxed to death, the art on his walls inside his house was being taxed (he apparently has some expensive art).

Can you believe that shit?

These fucking bureaucrats tax shit the masses wont protest and the ones that would object don't have the numbers to oppose/stop it

Texas is already pulling that shit with the Franchise tax (a tax on businesses that kicks in once your income reaches a certain point)

Texas also taxes you on the fucking property you buy for your business. So, let's say you spend $10,000 on furniture for your new restaurant (and pay sales tax on these items in the process), the fuck heads will come into your business & appraise all these declining assets thereby charging you rent on something you've already bought.

Its infuriating and discourages investment that could create new businesses that create more jobs

I think he's fine, I watch a lot of his podcasts. Honestly I don't think he's as liberal as he claims. He's friends with Alex Jones, Ben Shapiro, Gavin McGinnis, Dana White and a whole bunch of other right wingers. He believes in hunting and gun rights. He doesn't like cancel culture and seems pretty open minded. He seems to actually like this country.

I think he says he's liberal because he believes in stuff like gay marriage and legalizing weed and psychedelics. I don't really think that's what makes you liberal nowadays.

I know he's criticized what LA has become and I'm sure that's part of why he's leaving.

But my guess is going to Texas after striking a hundred million dollar contract has a lot to do with taxes.
I think he is more libertarian than democrat.

Rogan has obviously built a great business and made himself a ton of money, has good guests on his show and is a good interviewer, but I don't think he's any kind of intellectual giant. How can you go from supporting Bernie to supporting Trump, pretty much the polar opposite politically? And IIRC he only did that because he thought Biden had lost his faculties (which of course he has). Anyone making that kind of swing hasn't thought through things at all.

He supported Bernie? I didn't know that. Maybe he isn't libertarian at all.

I don’t think, at least the last I checked, that Rogan supports Trump. Last comment I’ve heard from him is Trump would destroy Biden in a debate, but unless I’ve missed it, he’s never openly said he’s vote for Trump.

But if you’re blown away by Bernie supporters now openly supporting for Trump, that’s happening very regularly and openly.

Take Tim Pool for example. He would much rather this race be between Bernie and Trump, he railed hard against Trump in 2016, but didn’t vote. He’s huge on not voting for the sake of voting against someone.

He’s leading the charge of walk away liberals who won’t stand for free speech censorship andthe outward promoting of civil unrest.

He’s 100% voting Trump this time around, not just to vote against Biden, but because he has fairly looked at the job done and what the opposition offers.

I don’t pretend to know how November 3rd will go, but if the walk away movement is any indication, Trump should skate to re-election. The sobering fact is, the democrats only had to be normal. They had to be not crazy. They couldn’t do it. They went hard and too far left.

It’s amazing, in 2016 Incouldnt stand watching liberal podcast personalities because of the rhetoric. Now a lot of them seem to be matching ideals and warming to Trump, if not out and out just supporting the guy.

If you don’t mind some of your ideals being challenged, do yourselves a favor. Watch some of Jimmy Dore’s and Tim Pool’s content.

You won’t agree with everything, but you’ll probably leave with the feeling that just witnessed someone trying to be fair and not a partisan hack.

Yeah, I didn't mean he was a flag waving Trump fan. I thought he said something like if he had to choose, he'd have to go Trump over Biden because Biden has slipped so much mentally.

If that’s the case, I’m surprised and retract my previous statement.
