I think it’s the messengers. Nobody likes the truth when it’s thrown in their face and no solution is offered.

Voting Republican at an 80% clip starting tomorrow and for the next 50 years isn’t going to solve it either.

I agree don't give me no plan and don't give me a bullshit plan of sensitivity training. There are bad cops out there. Weed those ones out and leave the good cops to do a good honest job. Problem solved. Just make a coherent plan for finding bad cops and firing them. It's really that simple.

What you say is theoretically correct but in actuality it is next to an impossibility. Bad people have been in every society that has lived on this earth. It doesn’t matter whether the system or society is a dictatorship or free society. The common trait in every society is that there is always an enforcement group. In this country it is primarily a localized police system.

This group is in a constant battle with every faction in the society and exposed to every vice and illegal faction that exists in their area of operation. Yes there is a system for psyche screening but it’s difficult to know when the element of becoming bad has taken over.. there may be a system for weeding out the bad elements but so far I am hard pressed to point to a municipality and say they have the perfect system. That said I agree a system needs to be devised but just saying seek them out and firing them really isn’t that simple because the large forces have a special group to do this very thing but it isn’t a perfect system because of the politics and unions that are entrenched in these same systems.

I'm afraid we're way past that. This isn't the Reagan-Tip O'Neill days or even the Clinton ones. The left is so far left now I don't think there is any compromise because their base won't accept it... just like if you make a statement that is only 90% correct in their eyes, they'll try to ruin you (see Drew Brees).

How can you compromise with someone who believes you're a racist and a nazi? And I know not all of them do but a significant portion does.

We already know it's not just Trump. It's 100 times worse with Trump, but they vilified W and called him racist and evil and a dictator.

The rhetoric of the left has been out of control for a long, long time. Fair criticisms and disagreements are fine, but when you always portray tour opponents as literally monsters, the two sides can never come together pr compromise. It's worse than counterproductive, it's destructive. We will forever be fractured in that environment.

And it doesn't happen both ways. Obama for instance was heavily criticized by the right, and some of it unfairly if we're being honest. But it never in the mainstream came anywhere close to pretending he was a monster or cartoon villain or bond villain or literally Hitler.

Hell, even Republican candidates have been eviscerated as evil by the left. Romney, Palin, Cruz, McCain. On and on.

So no, as long as the left dominates the media and the education system, it won't change and it's not just Trump although they pretend it is and he does exacerbate it.
