I'm sure they weren't intimidated/influenced by outside forces whatsoever. : Like Eric Garner in NY, the career criminal would be alive today if he hadn't resisted. Is manslaughter still serious? Yes. Does Floyd's family deserve compensation despite his idiocy? Yes. Was he "brutalized" in any fair definition of the term? Hell no. He had a hand in his own death.

The cop who did this should rot in prison. It’s not like there hasn’t been enough problems between blacks and cops over the last 10 years with tons of media attention. He deserves to be made an example of.

Here’s a idea, though. How about a non race hustling instigator rises from this in the black community with a voice that community can trust. Maybe that voice can make it clear that resisting arrest and escalating a situation with a cop is not ever going to work out in your favor.

I’m a white guy, and I realize that I’ll never understand what it means to be a black guy. Especially a black guy up against law enforcement. But I do know, if a cop wants to arrest me for something, I’m not going to resist. I’ll wait for a lawyer to fight for me, I’m not trying to fight a cop who can ultimately kill me if he feels threatened by me. Resisting arrest is not a good idea.

I’m pretty sure George Floyd would be alive today if he got in the cruiser and went to the station without resisting. That fact does in no way excuse a cop murdering Floyd. It’s just a sad reality or the situation.
